Sometimes I come across some real cool stuff (ie Celica converted to Porsche) and figured I'd start a thread specifically for sightings. Please feel free to contribute any dodos/unicorns/wtfs/cars of GRM interest that you come across while JY treasure hunting. (Continued from HERE)
Here are a few interesting cars spotted this past Saturday at the local(ish) self serve.
Infiniti M30
Thought these were Minis.
Galant Sigma, never knew about these, caught my eye.
Interior oh so pimp
I thought this thread was gonna be about me.
Disappoint.
Nope, they aren't Minis. Early Hondas? Maybe some sort of french or eastern european compacts?
They look like Honda N600s to me.
Oooh, this is a good thread. I'm hopefully going to my local yard later today. Last year they had a Fuego!
That Galant interior is really something.
I'm not sure what though.
I don’t have a picture but I once came across a Chevy van at a Pick-Your-Part that had a huge downward pointed ram piston welded within its interior. The Pick-Your-Part lot was located just a few miles north of Burbank so obviously the van had been used in one of those explosion > rollover scenes.
I suspect he is at one of the Pick-a-parts (there are some clone yards) in Sunland (he is local to me).
Many hours spend goofing off there. Years ago, the whole yard was dirt. The concrete is a lot nicer to work on. I still have a bunch of FC oil coolers I got from there when the FC became VERY common in the yards for a while (hit a critical age / mileage). It is interesting to see the mix of cars in those yards.
Do they still have those guys out by the entrance trying to sell strips of window/door seal to you? (never really understood that whole thing).
I once dropped (yes, literally DROPPED) the drivetrain out of a Corvair in that yard! Turning the rear engine mount bolt, waiting for it to let go (from below BTW) was pretty exciting!
memories....
Heh. No pics, but I saw a Triumph Mayflower coupe in a local boneyard today. There are three in this yard.
Same guy has seven (yes, seven) of the Honda N600's with the big rubber ring around the rear glass
and two Fiat 124 coupes.

Apparently I started an identical thread a couple years ago, so here is the URL for prosperity;
Linkback, Jack.

There's an XR4ti with complete engine (as of a week and a half ago) at US Auto Parts in Sterling Heights. I'm headed there to pull some more parts off a Miata they have.
A couple weekends ago
One guy's tool "cart" was a plastic 5ga bucket on wheels with a handle, spray painted silver and labelled R2D2 on the side. I lol'ed.
Yesterday in San Diego
Haven't seen one of these in awhile (SVX)
Impreza L AWD? Cool rims
the wheels on the impreza are old "Wagon wheels" off of old turbo lazers/daytonas.
