I have recently spent a lot of time on YouTube watching Dry Bar. Stand up comics performing in Utah.
It's amazing how funny some good comics can be when the crutch of drunkenness and foul language is taken away. Im not a prude, and am a bit loose with my language sometimes, but comics who can do it clean are real artists.
I've spent many hours enjoying some really solid laughs.
There are plenty of "clean" comics who are hysterical. Nate Bargatze, Brian Regan, Gaffigan, etc. I don't care if a comic uses normal language. All that matters is if they are funny. I can't imagine how exhausted I would be if I got offended by someone saying berkeley instead of frick. The meaning and intent are still there, and we know that, it's just a couple of letters in between the f and k.
Then you can also point to numerous studies that show people who swear are typically more intelligent.
Step Brothers. 2008. Austin, Texas.
I really don't believe that was almost 14 years ago.

That's berkeleying hilarious.

Night at the Museum Smithsonian Edition. Took my 11 year old nephew to the Imax at the Air & Space Museum on the national mall in 2009.
I'm pretty sure that was the last time I saw any movie in a theater.

Robert Mac. The full 40 minute version. As one review comments, "like a cross between a 5 year old telling a story and genius."

Exactly. Dry Bar has become our go-to comedy night at home, for every reason you note. Yeah, there's been osme stinkers, but even they can usually elicit at least one good laugh out of me.
We have a HARD time finding a decent comedy movie. Usually we just look for something with either Steve Martin or Adam Sandler.

I think you missed the humor. Must have been because I was swearing.

I've spent 44 years in construction. Trust me... there are a LOT of people who are really good at swearing who are NOT intelligent.
Free guy was last funny movie in theater for me. Better than was expecting it to be.

If you read finandia's other posts, I believe they are context-sensitive copy/paste jobs in a pre-canoe exercise.

Those studies are largely flawed. Usually they find that smarter people are able to know and come up with more swear words. Not a study of how much swearing people do in their day to day lives as a factor of intelligence.
Basically, Shakespeare can think of more, fancier ways to tell someone to go berkeley themselves than you can.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
I have seen movies since this came out, but this is the first movie I thought of to answer the question.
I've only been in the theaters once since COVID and it wasn't a comedy. And that experience was enough to remind me that I don't want to be surrounded by others with little respect for masking rules. Its a shame because I really enjoyed going to the theater with my son.
I'm guessing the last comedy I saw in theaters was Lego Movie 2 or Lego Batman or something with my son.
I got a lot of laughs out of Sausage Party back in 2016. I don't think there have been any remake of a remakes or yet another sequel's that have looked interesting enough for me to block off an evening to go to a theater in several years.
