SWMBO is going to have foot surgery and needs to use one of these. Any advice or specific brands?

Sorry to hear that.

I used one for 3 months, but I don't remember the brand. It was a black rental, with a basket that was very handy. Get a cushy seat, and have it adjusted to fit her.

I don't know if she's a racer, but I could outrun everyone on a decent parking lot. Probably not recommended, but still fun. Builds up arm strength.

Oh, check the clamp/nut that holds the steering shaft. Mine was just pushing on very worn out stamped metal, very sloppy in the turns.

Wife had to use one last year.  It was cheaper to just buy it online from the jungle store.  Sadly, she ended up using it for like 6 months.  I ended up getting slightly larger wheels for the front because it kept getting stuck in any little cracks in the pavement.  I don't recall the brand, just whatever was cheapest.

My wife has used this one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VMAKVS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) from Amazon. Got it in 2015 and she's had six foot surgeries between then and now so it's gotten plenty of use. It's held up fine. Whenever she graduates to a walking boot I throw the scooter in the shed and when the next surgery is scheduled I drag it out, hose off the cobwebs, and it's right back in action.
