Also, I was amazed at how effective my stacked spare sho wheels were in the garage.........when I moved them to the loft I built, there were no less than a half dozen mice that had fallen to thier impending doom.

Could I borrow her for a while. I seem to have a bunch of voles in my flower beds.

For several days I noticed a neighbors cat lying in the grass next to one of my flower beds every morning when I left for work. I wondered what was up until I checked things out. I suspect it was vole hunting.

She's a beauty.

My two female kitties have ensured no critters in my house for the past 3 years. They even curb-stomp spiders.

I was never a real cat fan until a semi-feral cat took up residence next door... and had kittens. Needless to say we been rodent free for the last year plus.

Works great.

Here in Denver we have dumpsters in the alleys behind our houses. It's really convenient, but there are tons of mice. You may have better luck than me, but I gave up on trying to keep them out. You wouldn't believe how small a hole they can get through. MkI of the mousetrap was must made out of hardboard. One of them chewed a hole not much bigger than a pencil and got out. I couldn't believe it.

The trap is powered by a small 12 volt SLA. It will run it all night. Yeah, we get mice in the house, but they don't stay long.

The thing that really pisses me off is we haven't had one in ten freakin years. Parts car on side of house + easy entry into basement = I'm a dumbass. E36 M3, I still haven't SEEN one!

So. Freakin weird. I put traps inside the car, outside the car, all around the basement, and NOTHING. Nobody's taking the bait. No dead meecy mice. I'm honestly wondering if I dropped them off at the park this weekend. Or maybe there's a snake living inside the car.

Has it gotten warmer recently? They may come and go as the weather outside changes...

Once upon a time at an autocross..

Had a friend on a run and somthing came off his car and skidded across the pavement, quick reactive cornerworker went after it. To his surprise it ran away from him!

Yup, the mouse vacated in the middle of an autocross run.

Must have been freaking that critter out! Car was an X-prepared Subaru.

I've had mice in the detached garage (they found my bag of birdseed) and also had one get inside the house and found its way to the pantry. I bought a lot of traps, all of the snap variety, and solved the problem quickly in both instances. Peanut butter works very well. The trap that was least likely to be robbed of peanut butter was this one:

Nah. It's actually gotten a lot colder. I'm starting to believe the "dropped off at the park" theory, as there has been no more evidence in the car. Though I suppose they may have just moved out of the car now that they know there's no food source, and maybe I'm not canvasing a big enough area with the traps. Garage is 1400 square feet and full of stuff. Plenty of places to hide.

A customer brought in a LeSabre wagon (big ol' RWD turd) for a tuneup. It was carbed, still had the big round air cleaner. The tech working on it had the stall next to my office, I was doing my thing as he removed the air filter cover. He immediately dropped it then started screaming and dancing around the shop like a madman.

Turns out when he pulled the cover off, a mouse ran up into his shirtsleeve (long sleeve, cold day) and started running around inside his shirt. at some point the mouse came flying out of the front of his shirt, hit the floor and hauled ass for parts unknown.

Had an uncle with a rusty old drag car. During a burnout the line workers all freaked and ran away but the car seemed fine so he ran anyway. Asked afterward and found out a massive rat had jumped out of one of the rust holes in the rear fender and chased the line workers around.

funniest thing I ever saw with mice was my uncle who had an old ford Courier pickup in the yard. He jumped it, got it running and legal.. and decided to take it for a ride. He did not make it more than a hundred feet down the road when he came to a scream halt and jumped out screaming and jumping around like a man possessed..

Seems there was a HUGE mouse nest under the seat and they came running out, over the seat, over him, and once the door was opened.. all over the road.

He sold the pickup after that

Yes, there is much enjoyment to be had with vermin.

I had a woman call us once who, cutting to the chase, had a squirrel that got loose in the trunk of her Buick Century and it had disappeared into the labyrinth of metal panels back there. She called the dealership wanting to know how to get it out, my suggestion was just leave the trunk open till he decided to leave. That would not be quick enough to suit her, so she wanted the car towed in and for us to get it out. I asked how she intended to pay for the tow etc, in the frostiest voice you can imagine she said 'Young man, that car is under warranty.'

cat outside/in garage, terrier inside. mice don't stand a chance.

however, cars are a different story. chevelle out of storage, i popped the trunk this spring and found a nest of baby mice under the latch. they all ran out a missing plug to the taillight area. hoping to make them fall off the undercarriage, i went for a ride. during the ride, mommy mouse got up onto the cowl under the hood and sat there and watched me drive. creepy watching a mouse watch you from under your cowl induction scoop.

DON'T USE POISON!!! We had an infestation at work and my boss decided to put poison EVERYWHERE. Well there's been at least one dead one in my office for the last three days, and it makes me berkeleying nauseous every morning. The smell is literally giving me a headache every day. It's slightly maddening. I hate it.

The trick is to put the peanut butter under the trigger plate on snap traps. This ensures the mouse will set it off deliberately.

In my brief dealings with them, peanut butter with small pretzel bits added to the peanut butter. Use plenty, if they do not get hit on the first feeding, they will get comfortable and get it on the second feeding. The key is you want them to find it.

Yeah. I need to yank the motor out of the parts car (and hope the wiring is not all completely berkeleyed) and get that piece of E36 M3 out of here. I'm guessing there's a pile of them in there.
