If I sold off some of the herd I could probably swing for one of those. I'm guessing in the next few years the window will be shrinking before the prices start creeping out of range.

It's a Huron Variomatic........ Yeah, I never heard of before, either. The thing is so weird, it was an immediate "keeper" image.
Apparently it competed in the early 70's as a contender in the Euro Hillclimb Championship. There were chassis equipped with conventional gearboxes, too.
The pics were found on the Nostalgia Forum at Autosport.com. That forum is infested with former drivers, mechanics, photographers, artists, corner workers and plain old fans who have been consumed by motorpsort passions for decades.

Reminds me that my mother hates motorcycles. After a short but intense discussion (3 of my 5 brothers who also ride were there) she asks "You don't go fast with Ian on that thing do you?"
"Ian, tell Grandma how fast you've been". He was 10 at the time.

In 15 years she hasn't discussed MCs at all. Huh.
