Colin Braun's early home is close-ish to mine. After reading this old C/D article, I looked up his Home track. Sounds and looks pretty idyllic.

I've always wondered what the distribution of wins looks like among race car drivers. I suspect there are a few with a ton of wins (both single-event and championship) and a vast majority with none. I've only ever got a couple of single-event class wins, closest otherwise would be some championship 2nds. Most of the drivers I know who've won an event have won many other events and some championships.

John Surtees was a motorcycle champion before switch to four wheels. Damon Hill was also a bike racer first and didn't start racing cars until he was 23 when he switched to four wheels at his mothers request.
The Indy 500 was part of the F1 world championship from 50-58 (I think) so there are several F1 winners who only have a handful of F1 races, all of which were the Indy 500 even though most F1 teams didn't turn up and the cars were different.
A Lotus 7 has entered a Formula one race, I posted details here years ago. IT was a modified narrowed 7 raced in South Africa.
