So for all the people who trekked to the city of light and fastened a padlock to a rickety bridge in hopes of ensuring eternal bliss with your 'amour, this is the end. City officials, concerned about the addition of 45 TONS of non structural weight have ordered the removal of all the padlocks.

I wonder it there will be a flurry of breakups across the world now?

I was floored when I read that it was 45 tons, and that parts of the bridge were already failing from the weight. I wonder what the keys in the river are doing to the environment?

I was in Paris a month ago. My wife and I put a lock on that bridge, and following tradition, threw the key into the Seine. Actually they had already covered fence on the bridge with plywood, so we couldn't put our lock there. The only open fence remaining was along the side, perpendicular to the bridge. Now it's gone. No big deal. There's a lot of river traffic so a falling section of fence covered with locks could have done some serious damage to a tourist cruise boat. From what I've seen there are other Euro and Asian cities where the lock thing is still being done, as well as the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC.

That was just starting on the Paris bridge when I was there last. We left a lock on the bridge in Cologne, where the city says "dude, this bridge was made for trains and traffic by German engineers. Bring it on."

The Cologne bridge was almost covered at the time, the Paris one just had a sprinkle.

Yes, but the bridge in France was built by French engineers.

Me too. I did that once, sort of a drag to have hair that long. They want you to send in like 10 or 12 inches of hair. I did not get a haircut for a year. One time my wife did it and the gal who cut it, "forgot" to send it in. She happened to be the only operator in that shop who sold hair extensions. I wonder how much you can get for 18 inches of hair the same color as in the pic 914driver posted. Took us a while to figure out she had kept it. They send you a postcard thanking you for your donation that never came.

Me three. I donated about 10" (hehe) a couple years ago, after about 10 years of long hair.
