I remember the nurse handing me our first born. My brain was screaming "No, you don't understand how incredibly immature I am!"
I actually said, to SWMBO, "I really hope you know what to do because I'm berkeleying useless when it comes to this stuff". She still tells that story every opportunity she gets.
Had to come back and edit because my first line was supposed to be congrats but your picture brought back a flood of memories that got me sidetracked.

I remember us walkin out to the car from the hospital, with this one bit of extra baggage. The surreal is still so, so vivid. Congratulations. And like everyone else said, time is just gonna start *flying* by so enjoy every minute.

Madz. We wanted a Scandinavian name. She shot down Thor right away. We found Madz, which is a variation on Mats, which is a variation on Mathew.
My parenting philosophy I think comes from the Talking Heads song Niave Melody: " ...We'll make it up as we go along. "
