Actually, I think Fudgie came first and Santa was second.  At least, judging from the tail / hat, that's how I'd call it.  I am no historian, at least not on the history of Carvel.  Wally might remember more.

See also - Cookie Puss vs The Balloon.  I can't seem to find a picture of it, but the OG Cookie Puss was a hot air balloon mold, upside down.  CP was much more popular (for obvious reasons) and I think they actually discontinued the balloon.

They used the same mold for Easter and Halloween, too.
