Are you planning on doing something that requires a specific strength skill set soon? If not, don’t worry about it. For desk jockeys like us, don’t overthink it if your goal is to look better, feel better, and get stronger.
The one thing though, that everyone should be doing, is squats, with a pretty deep knee bend. Keep doing that if you want to live in your own home as long as possible. When you can’t get up off the toilet on your own, it is time to move to “the home”.

IT's also 'cause there's a lot of misinformation in gym circles, some of which is genuinely dangerous. Weightlifting and health is really a Occam's razor deal; the simplest answer is typically best.

Squats and dead lifts are what had me back in the gym the day it opened back up. Due to some lower body injuries, I'll never be moving tons of weight with either exercise, but I'm trying to do reps with good form.
