I'm afraid I don't understand your banter.
"I am for real" sounds like "I am 4 eels":

$6k is pretty good for a 300+ horsepower 2 liter! BTCC teams were spending more than Formula 1 engine budgets in order to get that, twenty-odd years ago. Sometimes the engines would even last a full race.

I've heard jokes about holding connecting rods up and being able to see light through them.

They'd have to go through lots of cylinder head castings, porting them by hand, usually hitting air, before they'd get a casting that had the core shift in the right direction in all the right places. And then it was so thin in many places that it'd be only usable for one race before it turned into a colander. With all that going on, top teams were spending ten times on cylinder heads as the Williams F1 team.
But they were limited to stock castings, and not allowed to add material, to keep costs down...
A good friend of mine worked for the NATCC organization, hell I met him at Mid Ohio during a test day for anybody intersted in running the class. TC Klein and the HART team were there and Dodge had the Cirrus. I was looking at bringing in a Mazda Xedos 6 that had been a factory car in BTCC. TC didn't have his cars yet but he was buying them from the same team the HART guys got theirs from and wanted to see what he was getting.
I forget the owner of the team I was talking to but he was telling me how the F1 guys called the BTCC the Catering Championship because of the size of all the hospitality tents. Way more public/sponsor friendly than F1.

Uhhhhh, since Accords came with a K24, why would anybody spend $6000 to lose more than 15% of the OE displacement...?

All Accords? Like since the beginning?
