In reply to Appleseed :
Most of Woody Allen's work is awful. The only thing of his I really enjoyed was Crisis in Six Scenes that he made for Amazon.
I also don't find Steve Martin funny. His only good work was Planes Trains and Automobiles and I give the credit for that to John Candy.
In reply to Wally (Forum Supporter) :
He was great in the three amigos. Probably Martin short's best work too.
When it was new, Steve Martin's standup was new and brilliant. It has not aged as well as some, but most stand up from the 70's doesn't work very well anymore. It needs to be appreciated in a historical context.
The Jerk is spectacular and stupid. I love it.
"The new phone book's here!"
Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid is weird and brilliant.
The only time I've ever laughed at Woody Allen was when he was dressed as a sperm.

What's Up, Tiger Lily? is completely hilarious. Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex and Casino Royale are pretty good. Love And Death and Sleeper have their moments. Everything else ranges from pretty bad to horrible.

My confession:
I've been on vacation since 21 December. I go back tomorrow. All this has accomplished is to demonstrate just how badly I can't wait to retire.

Amen. I dread going in tomorrow morning and seeing how many emails, voicemails, and emergencies are waiting. I know its bad, just not sure how bad.
In reply to Wally (Forum Supporter) :
You should read Steve Martin's short novel The Pleasure of My Company. It's brilliant.

I have spent an unhealthy amount of time today trying to locate a bottle of blue hawaiian boones farm, anywhere in driving distance- and come up short. Turns out it might not be available in Florida at all, and I'm looking at the real possibility of either having to bootleg it, or buy an entire case.

I'm back! With another booze confession!
Today was the kind of day where there is now a bottle of emergency turkey 101 stashed somewhere in the store.

25 years ago we had in baskets and no email. An older guy told me he'd go into work on Sunday night after his vacation week and clean up his desk so Monday doesn't suck so much. I thought he was nuts.
As the old guy I now stop in on Saturday mornings or answer some of my emails on Sunday before the suck butt Monday begins cause Mondays suck where I work.
In reply to Datsun310Guy :
I generally stop by my desk Sunday sometime to see what Monday holds.
Unfortunately for me in my line of work, Friday's at 2pm is when EVERYTHING goes to E36 M3. Monday is cleanup from Friday after quitting time.
I might have unleashed the Miata track prep parts cannon a little hard after being in "don't spend anything and save all the monies" mode for a bit.
Berk I'm way too good at spending money.
I somehow took a train of thought as follows:
1. Finding the parts I need to manual swap my Ford Escort is a pain.
2. Miata transmissions should bolt right up to the engine, though, and are more plentiful.
3. Thus, converting it to RWD wouldn't be that much tougher. Just need, uhhhh, a Ranger axle or something and a bunch of custom welding.
Anyone wanna teach me how to weld?
In reply to slowbird :
Uh maybe. Wanna buy a ranger? Or can you teach me how to take better photos?
I think the new house is closer to you than the old house, and I have an unopened tank of C25 in the garage. I'm not a great welder, but I can at least get you started

So, I think I need to clean out my t shirt stash. I was looking for a shirt to wear, and found my berkeley this E36 M3 grm shirt. I don't remember buying that at all. But I did, because I'm wearing it.

I think I am at around 150-200 t shirts. Really need to cull it significantly.
In reply to slowbird :
I’ve caught myself wondering what it would take to stick a Miata rear end under an Escort wagon. Not sure where the drive shaft would go though.
Do you know what you’d need to swap to a manual trans? I’ll be pulling stuff of my LX-E parts car soon.
In reply to BlueInGreen - Jon (Forum Supporter) :
Here's a list I found, edited slightly for clarity.
https://www.feoa.net/threads/how-to-auto-to-manual-tranny-swap.14079/
5-speed transmission
front mount (the one right at the radiator fan) off the manual
clutch
flywheel
pilot bearing
axles (I recommend getting new ones) and the little 12 inch long “intermediate shaft” and bracket with 3-14mm bolts
all clutch lines and slave cylinder (should be on the transmission),
clutch master cylinder
brake master cylinder and reservoir
clutch pedal, spring, bolt and nut, the rod that goes through the firewall into the master cylinder
brake pedal
the shifter and boot and mounting bracket for the boot
linkage bar things that go to the transmission
So, only about a billion pieces. Easy.
I feel like a lazy E36 M3, but I've fully embraced the Curbside Pick-Up lifestyle.

Thank you.
any time I hear something "isn't for drinking", i automatically think "it's for lying down and avoiding"
Dusterbd13's forum handle is "Duster Buster" in my head, and even though I know it's a pun on disturbed, I'm sticking with Duster Buster.
