I spent well over an hour today washing my truck, possibly the first time I have ever done so, for reasons that are utterly beyond comprehension. The clear coat is still pealing, one of the fenders is mismatched, the cab corners are in primer, it has rust in the bed arches, rear bumper, and starting in the rockers - in short, no amount of soap and water will ever make it look better, much less "good." And yet it was still somehow oddly satisfying.

How I'm #3 baffles me. I don't know E36 M3.
E36 M3posting is E36 M3posting. I've reached the age where that's all i'm good for.
Last night, I coached my first soccer game ever. I was also the backup official timekeeper.
When the ref blew the whistle and the team came trotting off the field, down 1-0, I looked down, and realized that I had failed to start the clock (iPhone).
There were lots of fist bumps and lots of "good job out there"s, and then I stood awkwardly on the sidelines as the team drank water and talked about the other team.
I had absolutely no idea if we had lost the game, or if it was just halftime.
I walked over to the ref, said, "Good job", and offered him a water bottle. He gave no indication as to whether or not the game was over. I walked back to the bench, heard another whistle and the team trotted back out out onto the field. At the next whistle, I started two timers.
Me: " Let's go, let's go, let's go! We can win this!!"
We won the game 2-1.
I am undefeated as a soccer coach.
Imagine:
An awd version of the turbo PT Cruiser, plus more turbo. Basically an oddball Mopar competitor for the WRX STi. If that had existed it would have been freaking awesome.
edit: Or if Ford/Lincoln/SVT had let the Lincoln LS off the leash by putting the Terminator Cobra motor under the hood.
This is the kind of thing that pops into my brain when I should be going to sleep.

When GT3 hacks were a thing, we made a killer PT Cruiser in game. I believe it had the Astra touring car's running gear? I forget - it's been almost 20 years.
It was fun to watch in the replay videos.

Birthdays for me have not been an enjoyable affair for me the last few years (today is proving to be no exception, either). I'd just like a day where I can do the things I want, instead, I get labeled as selfish because others "can't celebrate me"...
I can't believe I'm saying this, but part of me is glad to be at work, but they are equally making a big deal out of it. What do I want for today? Peace.
In reply to Azryael :
There's a reason most people don't know my birthday.

It's a continuous struggle in my home. I do not want to celebrate, she does. She keeps asking what I want to do. I don't want to do anything. But she wants to do something for me. If I don't want anything and I am actively against the celebration, who are you doing it for?

Yeah, that's precisely why I don't tell anyone, but people find out somehow anyway (I even have it hidden on social media). But family constantly hounds me about it, and I just want to chill. So now, I have to eat a big lunch at work (despite saying I'm good on lunch, or if you insist at least choose something small), and then big dinner (this I am looking forward to).
Born on January 29th. You think anyone's coming out for a birthday in January? In Northern Illinois?
I don't waste my time anymore.

I mean, I am a (former) midwesterner and I'd have done it.
I spent all my truck/motorbike fixing money on music gear. Oops

I have a minor thing for early CR-Vs, lowered to sedan height, with short by wide wheels.

Chevy wanted to make an all wheel drive version of the Cobalt SS to compete in the Evo/WRX segment.
That would have been cool, assuming GM could finagle an all wheel drive system that didn't suck.
Now, imagine all that in an HHR.
I've been going down a remote control lawn mower rabbit hole lately. Turns out it's a lot harder than I thought to diy, but the machines on the market look amazing.

There was also supposed to be a turbo 4-cylinder AWD Dodge Dart SRT-4 but the Dart's middling sales put the kibosh to that.
Sometimes I really, really hate how big of homebodies my old friends have become. I don't wanna be a dick, but our friend group we've worked so hard to cultivate and keep together is gonna fray if we don't do things in person too, and there's one member in particular whom I don't think truly understands that.

There's a few of those around me, and I really like them. Not enough yet to build/buy one, but I do think about it.
I bought an electric lawnmower for my 1/4 acre sized lot. It will mow the front and backyard twice on a single battery charge. It does all the lawnmowery things better than the old gasser except for make noise and vibrate.
Totally worth it.
In reply to Recon1342 :
I almost pulled the trigger on one last weekend while fighting to start my old gasser. I already went battery electric for the weed wacker, just a matter of time before it gets a electric lawnmower for a shed-mate.
In reply to 06HHR (Forum Supporter) :
Ours uses the same batteries as- the drill, the impact, the string trimmer, the leaf blower, the circular saw, the reciprocating saw, and the jigsaw.
In reply to 06HHR (Forum Supporter) :
We've added an electric mower to the fleet at the farm. Works a treat for around the house and Mom can use it with no issues (health reasons keep her from being able to pullstart anything).
The only issue I have found is the weight of ours is very low and my natural arm position makes the front end tip 'up' very slightly.
In reply to Recon1342 :
If you don't mind saying, what brand and what size electric mower? My wife and I have been looking at the these to replace our troublesome push mower that has trouble getting to sometimes.
