I'm with you.  It's so much better than Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy (with the exception of Ledger's Joker).  Focused, followable, believable.

I was honestly kind of uncertain on it before seeing it in the theaters, but then the opening sequence where all the criminals are seeing the signal in the sky and start panicking and imagining he's in the shadows, while that main theme with heavy The Animated Series inspiration plays, was like "Oh, Matt Reeves gets it." Also kudos for taking two of Batman's least interesting villains and making one of the an absolute menace and the other a scene-stealer.

Yeah I couldn't stand Nolan's ending with the cell phone surveillance system knowing his personal views- meanwhile Reeve is VERY willing to make Bruce a wierdo in public scenes, which really sold me on it.

And THEN the new Batmobile arrives.

I sifted through my beer stash after work today,  and I have a whole bunch of high ABV stuff that I never see myself drinking.  My beer fridge has become a 'waste not, want not' purgatory.

If it's in a corked bottle and more than a couple months old, just throw it out.

I had a corked beer that I was saving for a special occasion.  Six months later I noticed that it was moldy.  Oops.

All cans and capped bottles, fortunately.

Unfortunately, I don't see a time when a 14% beer is in my near future.  My life hasn't been that good or that bad in quite some time.

If I think a thread could be important to someone at a personal level and/or requires significant personal disclosure on the part of hive members to post in, I'll sometimes just go straight down the line hitting the plus-one button on all of the posts.  I'm also the "Mother Hen" in my engineering department responsible for resolving disputes and coordinating team activities.

I think of myself as being fairly mid-range on the knuckle-dragger / softy spectrum but maybe not...should I start wearing more plaid or something???

I watched The Batman (2022) last night, since it's technically a Halloween movie, and, yep, that is still my favorite live action Batman movie. And it's not even close. The casting, the soundtrack, the fight scenes, the cinematography, the Batmobile, *chef's kiss*.

1989 batman would like a word.

Nah, I don't really like Tim Burton movies. Less pretentious than Nolan, though.

Not your fault.  There is no E36 M3 stirring done without E36 M3 to stir.

I thought of this while watching a video of someone (yes, Max Miller) making garum.

See, you coarsely cut up whole fish, no boning or scaling or gutting, just like the Super Bass-O-Matic 76, and you mix it with salt in an 8:1 fish:salt ratio, and then... leave it in a bowl in the sun for a couple months, stirring occasionally.

It doesn't rot because of all of the salt, but it does sort of digest itself, and after a few days you are stirring this grayish goop.

After a couple months you strain it and are left with a golden colored sauce that apparently tastes amazing.

I put the Christmas lights up on the house today, because the only thing that sucks more than putting up the lights is doing it in lousy weather.
They don't get turned on until after Thanksgiving though.

I'm a big fan of 80s movies, and of action comedies.  Tonight is the first time I have seen Midnight Run. Should have watched it decades ago.

I feel like a bad neighbor/GRM'er.

One of the folks in the main house (I live in a mother-in-law suite above a detached, converted garage behind the house) is doing a clutch job on his SN95 Mustang (4.6L, Cobra body kit and wheels if not an actual Cobra)

And I haven't touched base with him at all to see if he needs help or company or anything.

I like cucumbers, but I can't find any compelling reason to drink this E36 M3.

A twofer today.

One: It sure would be great if there was an ignore function on this forum.

Two: I'm trying hard to keep my activity up and my caloric intake down, and it's working. And I don't really even like turkey, as a rule. But I went ahead and had a full Thanksgiving dinner today, which is to say I effectively had two Thanksgiving dinners within minutes of each other, and may sneak back to kitchen to pick on the carcass for the rest of the night.
