I'm with you. It's so much better than Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy (with the exception of Ledger's Joker). Focused, followable, believable.

I was honestly kind of uncertain on it before seeing it in the theaters, but then the opening sequence where all the criminals are seeing the signal in the sky and start panicking and imagining he's in the shadows, while that main theme with heavy The Animated Series inspiration plays, was like "Oh, Matt Reeves gets it." Also kudos for taking two of Batman's least interesting villains and making one of the an absolute menace and the other a scene-stealer.
Yeah I couldn't stand Nolan's ending with the cell phone surveillance system knowing his personal views- meanwhile Reeve is VERY willing to make Bruce a wierdo in public scenes, which really sold me on it.
And THEN the new Batmobile arrives.
I sifted through my beer stash after work today, and I have a whole bunch of high ABV stuff that I never see myself drinking. My beer fridge has become a 'waste not, want not' purgatory.

If it's in a corked bottle and more than a couple months old, just throw it out.
I had a corked beer that I was saving for a special occasion. Six months later I noticed that it was moldy. Oops.

All cans and capped bottles, fortunately.
Unfortunately, I don't see a time when a 14% beer is in my near future. My life hasn't been that good or that bad in quite some time.
If I think a thread could be important to someone at a personal level and/or requires significant personal disclosure on the part of hive members to post in, I'll sometimes just go straight down the line hitting the plus-one button on all of the posts. I'm also the "Mother Hen" in my engineering department responsible for resolving disputes and coordinating team activities.
I think of myself as being fairly mid-range on the knuckle-dragger / softy spectrum but maybe not...should I start wearing more plaid or something???

NickD said:I watched The Batman (2022) last night, since it's technically a Halloween movie, and, yep, that is still my favorite live action Batman movie. And it's not even close. The casting, the soundtrack, the fight scenes, the cinematography, the Batmobile, *chef's kiss*.
1989 batman would like a word.
