After doing so, I now understand the fascination with bombing around in a unloaded, slightly modified, Cummins powered Dodge truck all the time. So much power under the curve(I looked it up, it makes full torque for ~1/3 of the rev range, stock), the berkeleying thing pulls harder when it upshifts, it spins the tires without trying. When you goose it a little on the highway passing somebody the turbo spools up and the 6000lb truck is suddenly going 10mph faster, without the auto even downshifting. Also, when some shiny happy person honks at you for not jumping on it milliseconds after a light goes green, you can jump on it a little and explain how, visually. Such power is addictive.
Monday morning I have surgery scheduled to remove a malignant tumor located on the head of my right humorous and have isotopes put into the surrounding muscle. I'll also be getting a series of biopsies on my liver and pancreas while I'm under. My ATL levels have been over 100 in every bloodtest the past few weekend, and my WBC has been as high as 319K, with it being down to 144.5K this past Wednesday. I've also lost 18 pounds in the past 2 weeks.
Yeah, Cap'n, I don't think that's minor and I'm not sure what you're confessing, but I sure as hell wish you the best.

Thanks, to you and wb, I didn't want to start a thread on it or it to become a focal point, but at the same time I wanted it known in case posting stops in a few weeks. I remembered this thread and thought it'd be a place that I could slip it in without completely floundering it.
Today's confession: I taught myself how to operate the brake lathe at the parts stire. To turn down the od of a pair of hubs. And I have never worked there.
I sometimes think about getting a cheap WRX and throwing a Carberry ROM at it so I can make all the poppy bang-bang noises I can before the turbo E36 M3s the bed, then adapting a $200 eBay T3 to the thing so I can just keep a few spares around.

I'm PCS'ing to take my family to CA so I can fly again, and despite my family's wishes to live on the east coast I really just want to do my last three years and quit while I'm there.
I'm a CA kid, and didn't realize I had such a pull to a place.
PS: Capt: hang in there and please keep us up. I wouldn't know you from Adam at an airport, but that's a tough row to hoe, and please know you have a bunch of weirdos moving a bunch of cosmic dust to fill that hole. The good kind. I'll bet GPS even has some leftover Woodford (or Four Roses small batch if you actually have some taste).

Blasphemy!!

Dude, sorry to hear it. I imagine you won't see this until after but know that we're all here for you! (Unless it's for sponge baths, you have nurses for that and I guarantee they are cuter than us). Hang in there man, you got this!!!

I have a 10 year subscription and just picked up the first magazine in 4 months to actually read.

I love the 911 but don't think it is a supercar. So I don't know who is worse me or you?
Thanks all. I'm on my way to the hospital now, wishing that I could have an iced coffee or get something for breakfast.
As for 911s I love the air cooled cars even though a V6 camry can out perform all but the turbo models in a straight line. Of the water cooled cars I like the 997 most, the 991 is fantastic, but to get the most out of it you're better served by the PDK and despite it's incredible capabilities feels more like an incredible mind bending GT car then a sportscar. I also should confess that I love the Panamera.
