To be honest, not looking forward to cooking for Thanksgiving again this year. Last year was the first year I hosted since it was our first year in the house and I spent all day cooking and cleaning and then cleaning the next day thanks to all the dishes.
This year, it's thankfully just going to be wife and daughter. Still gonna be cooking a lot because how often do I make fresh mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie, candied yams, and a 13lbs turkey?!
I'd go to my dad's, but he honestly sucks complete ass at cooking and will wet-vac the carpet and couches the day of, making finding a dry spot for my ass near-impossible.

Disposable plates dood. This is exactly what they were made for. Funny thing, we eat on our fine china daily. For parties and such, it is disposable.
I really hate the way the word "pimp" is used as a positive. As if one who exerts control over, and lives off the earnings of prostitutes is a good thing? Really?
Mayonnaise. SWMBO hates it. Tomatoes too.
Try to be nice with a chicken sammich.. has mayo on it. Voices disgust and how I should have asked. Give me a break. Buy your own E36 M3 then. I done trying to be nice to your sorry ass.
TL:DR- Popeyes makes a killer chicken sammich. Even better than the lords chicken.

That Popeyes sandwich is really amazing. Worth the initial hype before it went viral, not worth the stabbing and fist-fight hype though. In any case, I'm glad it exists and for only $4.

Or using it in a positive manner takes any power away from an undesirable entity.
Remember when "bad" became something to denote something good?
What do you do?
I'm a pimp, sucka.
Like that TV show with cars and Xzibit?
Not so cool now, are you pimp?

So... GM's part failed under warranty, they don't have a replacement part for a fairly new truck, and by fixing it the best they can under warranty, they're voiding that part of his warranty?
I'm not a legal action fan, but I'd be lawyering up if I was this guy.
In my experience generally not worth it for the time and aggravation. Especially for something like an axle where the cost is pretty low to begin with. The lowest amount I ever sued for was ~900 and it was to prove a point in my younger days. I had to go to court three different times, taking off work each time, then use the judgement to freeze a bank account to finally get the money. No way I have time to do that now. I would keep working with the dealer/GM through escalations and push for a rental truck or similar loaner.

Anyway, a truly minor rant; if my 3-year old would actually just brush her teeth, we could spend that time she screws around having actual fun instead of me being an shiny happy person and her dancing around being oblivious. Seriously, every damn night I try not to lose my E36 M3 as she's ignoring my requests and threats about brushing her teeth. She has a small mouth, it takes all of a minute to do them all. Nope, gotta dance around and tell stories and god knows what else until Dad is red faced and about to explode.
Kids love routine. You've made that the routine. You're going to have to actively change it by making the alternative to the routine more interesting. Perhaps brushing your teeth together?

What about Pirates? When did being a pirate, thieving and murdering, become cool?
In reply to TheGloriousW :
When Hollywood started complaining about lost profits while putting up record profits regurgitating and ruining classic films.
There's no end to the way this place can berkeley things up. Another needless 11 hour day because of our hyperactive Twitter monitors. If I knew we were going to go this crazy I would have stayed hourly.

For the past few holiday seasons at work we've had some of our museum buses put into service on nice days. The customers like them, the drivers like them, and we'd get a little bit of positive covering the news for once. This year they've been cut due to budget concerns.
This is one thing I miss about Toronto and Ottawa, seeing the old historic buses getting used once or twice a year. I think TTC only did 'original' routes in the less hectic areas of down town, memory is hazy on that tho, its been about 25 years since I last saw them in person.
My Rant: I haven't been back to Ontario in waaaay to long. Haven't gone out and traveled outside of the province since I got my license, I really need to change that...

Windows can't update.
I decided to fix it. Restore drives aren't restoring. Install drives aren't installing. I've tried enough stuff now, the machine, which was working fine aside from the not updating issue no longer boots. Startup repair can't repair startup. System restore can't restore the system.
Nothing works.
Imaging the USB from the ISO on the Chromebook didn't boot. The MacBook wouldn't do it dd in linux wouldn't do it. My ancient windows tablet tried to do it, but charging and writing the drive are mutually exclusive. I eventually had to Bootcamp a Windows 10 iso on the macbook to be able to write the drive. Then, I kept getting a BSOD. Pulled the memory upgrade. Finally finished at 2 am.
Ugh.

Yeah, that about sums it up. And for the record, before anyone chimes in with "dealerships suck", this is not a dealership issue. We are calling GM and hounding them everyday, we are trying to think of every way to get this guys truck fixed. Hell, me and my boss were trying to see if the guy had an aftermarket warranty, in hopes that maybe we could act like it was out of GM warranty and get the aftermarket warranty to cough up for a used axle and get this guy on the road. Me, my boss, the service writer and the parts guy are kicking down every door we can to try and get something
No, this is one of the rare cases where dealerships rock, I don’t think anyone reading would put the blame on you guys.
Im in a similar boat, both personally and professionally. Waiting on idler pulleys for the Z06 and it’s been weeks (they were “in stock” when ordered), and work is waiting on cylinder heads, with no eta yet. Fun times. My only consolation is it apparently sucks everywhere trying to get parts at the moment :p.

I ordered a set of sway bar bushings for our R class in June, listed on the website as in stock. About a month later I get an email saying that parts are on back order. Two months later someone from the site calls me and says there is no ETA on the parts so I cancel my order. Last month I finally go over to one of the Mercedes dealers in town to try to get the parts and low an behold the parts are on back order there too with no ETA. I had the parts guy order them anyway and thankfully everything came in a week later.
A raccoon decided to try and enter my attic from the roof last night after midnight. It tore up some shingles and stuff before we were able to make it go away.
Shortly after that, it started raining and hasn't stopped.
Ah, nice:
"Mr. Murphy, thank you for the update. I'm sorry to hear about the raccoon damage. Unfortunately any additional damage caused by the raccoon would not be covered by your Homeowners Policy."

1-ply TP is a fool's bargain. It takes at minimum 4x as much 1-ply to equal 2-ply.
Note to boss: STOP BUYING 1-PLY FOR THE CRAPPER.

This is what they teach us in sales - "I might not be the cheapest supplier but I will be the most cost effective supplier".
Case in point.

Braved a massive sinus headache to go the the local junkyard to look at the super duty selection, some CR-V fenders, and to see if there was anything worth pulling from the sole Miata they have.
Not a single thing in the yard worth buying. Everything is way picked over and the organization has gone from pretty good to absolute chaos.
And now I can't take a nap to try to lose this headache because I've got to cook the goetta.
