Shipping a small box of presents USPS cost me $40. Twas due on the 24th. Carrier left a "nobody was here" sheet on the 26th. This was filled out for redelivery,  and the carrier has ignored it, leaving the sheet in the box on the 27th and 28th. I went online on the 28th and scheduled the redelivery for today. Nothing. The tracking shows I requested on the 28th, and no activity today.

Would it really be so difficult to have a 3 section slider in streaming apps for audio? Voice, fx, and music with independent volume control. Videogames have been doing it for decades, now that everything is streaming why can't my movies and TV?

Folks, the hardware aisle is self service. It's not a berkeleying meat counter. You will not take 4 of those 3 of those and seven of those but oh make that one a little longer. You will find what you need, maybe listen to advice, and move on.

Additionally, I get it. You're lazy. You don't know or don't care where it came from. I get it. However, I also am aware that you know that about yourselves before you walk in. If you are one of those people DONT TOUCH IT. and when I am helping you, and offer to put it back for you, I am not doing it to be nice. I am doing it because I am 100% certain you have no idea where it came from and are going to screw it up. I'm saving you the trouble by saving me the trouble. And when you get indignant and put it back (incorrectly) I am going to move it from where you decided it goes, to where it belongs, in front of you, to prove my point.

It's not that hard to be courteous. You come to me because finding a face, let alone a smiling one, let alone one that works there, and actually knows how to fix E36 M3, is impossible at the lowesdepot. I'm paid (poorly) to know what I'm doing. I'm trying to make both of our lives easier, and I assure you nothing I am doing, suggesting, or offering to do is any less than the most efficient way to get us both on our way. Please don't act like I'm inconveniencing you. You walked into my store because you needed something. I walked into my store because I needed money. It's business.

The first dusting of snow in a while and... 15 mph or right up your ass. The super slow guys I can handle, because, I might want to go faster, but the pack seemed to find a groove with very few tail lights popping off. 2 separate trips out in this crap and I end up with Jonny Rocket trying his (and its always a bro. Always) best to cause a pile up. Close enough both times that I couldn't see his headlights out the back window of the Radio Flyer (Focus wagon.) Jesus berkeley, back off. I've got snow tires on and a E36 M3load of time sideways in snow. If I've dialed it back, you might consider it, too. This is a $500 beater. The only thing stopping me from killing us both is that I've got a kid on the way.

Thanks, kiddo. You just prevented a murder.

I really wish I had a dashcam.  When it gets snowy, people drive slow.  But their brains, or whatever there is they have in their heads, go "Oh, we're slow, it's okay to drive five feet from the person in front of me."  Except for that little part where you're driving slow because the conditions are E36 M3.  I honestly think it is no more complicated than they have no clue what a safe following distance is.

I admit to some schadenfreude for the people who have no sense of following distance.  I saw a three vehicle conga line on a clear sunny day once.  No other traffic so if they wanted to go faster they could have chosen the lane to the left or the right and just gone.  I guess some people think you're supposed to drive so you can't see the bumper of the car in front of you.  Anyway, there's a mattress in the middle of the road, someone lost part of their load.  Driver in front signals, changes lanes out of the way, well in advance.  Driver behind doesn't notice it until right there and swerves hard enough I think I saw light under one of the tires.  Third driver has no time to do anything but centerpunch it and get it stuck under the middle of her Rav4.

8:30 am and we've had our fourth "sick" customer.  There are some people trying to get to work so it would be nice if everyone could try to hold their alcohol until after rush hour.

You'd think that because Craigslist now charges to sell cars, sellers would actually respond. Nope. Two ads I've now emailed with zero response.

I'm totally spoiled by the versioning features in the Google Apps and O365 suites.  Apparently Lucidpress doesn't have that and now I have to manually un-do some changes I made to the wrong version of my bingo program a few months ago.  Good thing the auditor isn't likely to show up tomorrow...

I am and for this customer it isn't cheap. Pharma companies are the worst to deal with and their shutdown is always over Christmas. Their entire interlock system looks like this. It's a 20 year old system without any kind of wiring diagram.

That was a new one to me.

I just broke a 10mm flare nut wrench trying to shift a bleed screw on one of my S2000's brake calipers. What sort of caveperson tightens a bleed screw this much? Fortunately the wrench gave before the bleed screw gave, otherwise I'd be in for even more fun. And yes, I finally managed to get the bleed screw undone.

Poor sleeping habits, cold weather, garbage diet, and general slothfulness. Is it any wonder I get migraines this time of year? Luckily I have a friend who is free with the prescription stuff that actually works. And work is slow. Because I get pretty worthless from a productivity standpoint. Happy new year.

Now we wait for it to get cold and hungry and hope the stupid thing doesn't manage to get itself killed.

I can't imagine what sort of cheese based Harbour Freight wrench you could possibly break on a bleed screw.

Who said anything about Harbour Freight?

Yeah, it says Pittsburgh on there. Guess it might be time to check on their hand tool warranty.

When the wrench snapped I originally thought the I'd managed to break off the bleed screw and started turning the air very blue until I took another look and went WTF?

That said, I shouldn't be surprised, given that even a used Snap-On set costs about 10 times as much as the Hammer Store one.

I gotta hand it to you. I've been downright abusive to my HF wrenches and sockets, and never managed that. So far I've stopped a 1/2"ratchet from going into "off" and stripped the rubber off a 3/8" ratchet handle.

The best part about this is that I did all of that by hand, and I'm not exactly built like Arnold. I'd understand it if I had hit it with a hammer, but all I did was give it a tap with the palm of my hand.

It would require separate audio tracks to be recorded and recombined for whatever stream you're watching. Currently, movies get just one audio stream for each language containing voice + fx + music. In a videogame, these things are played back programmatically so it's easy to categorize sounds and adjust their levels independently.

Surely in the edit room they are all separate tracks though. Just skip the combining step.

Watching "Renegade" & "Walker: Texas Ranger" always make me depressed because my stubby Fred Flintstone legs are too short for a proper roundhouse kick.  I hope I never find myself circled by bad guys coming at me one at a time.
