I've cracked a rib. That was it...
I figured mountain biking would've resulted in more broken bones, but instead I got two trick shoulders and a host of dislocations.
That's the other thing, both of my shoulders/collarbones are intact!
Tuck and roll
Mountain biking was a forearm. As a city boy I was unprepared for real mountains, and when there was a chairlift involved i should have been concerned. Like so many stories I was young, bulletproof and there may have been a girl. I did make it down most of the way one handed because I'm also stubborn.

Seltzer water. It's just like a soft drink. Except without all the things you like about a soft drink, like flavor.
Today was a better day. Went to the gym early, then four miles on a new section of rail trail, some shopping and decorating the house. It wasn't as hard as I was afraid it would be though several friends called and texted which probably helped. Also had a long interesting talk with the new friend. This could go very well or horribly wrong eventually. She's waiting to hear what's wrong with her back first.
In reply to wae :
I love seltzer. If I'm paying for water there damn well better be bubbles in it.

That's all the doctor would likely do anyway. I'm impressed that there are adults that never broke bones.
At 55 I have never broken a bone. I have given myself a concussion (skateboard), knocked my front teeth out (motorcycle), dislocated my shoulder (motorcycle), and torn a bunch of ligaments in my ankle (skateboard again) but I have never actually broken a bone.

Never broke a bone, but I did concuss myself with a point blank shot to the eyebrow from a spud gun. There's not many that can make that claim. Even less that still have both eyes.
I never broke a bone until I was 15. Then I broke three in as many weeks (skateboarding, if you can believe it). Had a good few years of no trauma, then I tried skateboarding again and on day 1 I broke my tail bone. Haven't ridden since.
4 concussions.
-dirtbike, really glad I was wearing a helmet
-wakeboarding (water hurts at speed)
-when they say no diving, don't
-soccer goal post at full "you can't catch me" while looking back over my shoulder.

54. Nothing broken except my nose. Lots of stitches though. Like 100s of them. Glass didn't like me. At all.
The only thing a skateboard gave me was a sprain. I was 13 at the time and I haven't ridden one since.

I used to completely agree with you. Then something happened and I started liking it. Now I use it as a replacement for beer. No, it is nowhere near as good as beer, but where I used to drink 4 beers a night on a weeknight, now it is 3 La-Crotchs and 1 beer. Cheaper, no calories, no hangover. And it tastes better than diet anything-other-than-dr.-pepper.

Growing up I drank tons of New York Seltzer Water in various flavors. That was in the little 12oz glass bottles that were super cheap and the corner store by my house. It was the closest off base store to Griffiths Air Force so some real stuff went down there which my 11 year old self tied to that seltzer water for some reason. Wish it were available near me now.
edit: appears they went out of business in 1994 and are just now back. No local vendors of course

I would love to find some in glass bottles for cheap. Unfortunately, anything in glass is exorbinately expensive.

Trying to sort out the cam timing issue on a Buick Encore with a 1.4T, which is weird because that's rarely an issue, and finally decided it had to be a timing chain or tensioner or bother. Tore it down this morning and found that the one guide bolt is broke off inside the block

An old co-worker of mine finally landed a dream job not long ago, then had it yanked out from under him after moving. I'm pissed by proxy.

Ooof. Ran into a guy that I race with and he was griping that he had gotten a gig as an instructor at the BMW Performance Driving Center and was supposed to start this spring. Him and his wife were looking for places to live down there and then 'Rona hit and he is unsure what the future of that job is and is basically stuck in a holding position waiting to hear.
In reply to NickD :
Assuming it wasn't a case of boogered threads on the assembly line causing the bolt to get "torqued" loose...
This was a really common failure mode on 2.2 Ecotecs that were trained to run three quarts low. The chain slapping the guide would break the bolt. Always the top one on the intake side, the one you access through a plug.

Yep, saw a lot of that on the 2.4L Ecotecs in the Equinox/Terrain as well.
Turns out my freakout was a bit premature. Another tech and I were looking at it trying to figure out how to best tackle it and he pulls a pick out of his shirt pocket, inserts it down inside the hole and goes "Just humor me" and spins out what whats left just like that. Even he said "Huh, well, I didn't expect that to happen"
Nothing like being told, "you're exactly who we're looking for", the next steps are for formalities, then finding out that person was let go, and their replacement isn't sure where you'll fit in yet...
I understand. I make a lot of money as a stage electrician, but have been out of work since March. No job opening in the area will hire me because they know they compete with my salary and when the casinos reopen, I will be gone like a shot.

I don't know if ive posted this before, my memory is apparently honked. But- it seems to me people these days are grossly misinformed about the differences between rights, privileges, and ability. As in you have the ability to walk into my store, and you have the privilege of shopping there. But under no circumstances do you have the right to be there. It's private property. Act a fool, get kicked out. I have the ability to kick you out of my store, the privilege of being backed up by my leadership for doing so, and the right to not tolerate your bullE36 M3.
And, i got the rejection email this morning. I guess it was a case of, the previous guy wanted you, so I don't mentality. F 'em. Their loss. Still frustrating though. 3 interviews, including a VP that all went well. Probably a good thing though. If they can't keep people already (startup situation) then there is a reason.

SO MUCH THIS. Regarding so much more than just stores.

You dodged a E36 M3 show. Keep looking, the right opportunity will present itself.
I'm berkeleying done with cars right now, and most of life in general as well. Bro and sis-in-law were renting a house (and planning to buy) from me for the past three years. This spring, they had some industrial-sized plumbing problems and basically bounced, leaving me holding the bag. I have so far sunk nearly $12,000 into an unplanned renovation because they berkeleying trashed the place and I was stupid enough to not make them sign a lease. Then, I blew up the motor in the Ramcharger. Today, as I was pulling into work, the Protegé made a loud clank and died. Took first break at 10, went and checked it out. Rod knock and sparkles in the oil. Oh, yeah, I also have to come up with a deductible at some point for my hand surgery at the end of the month, because if I don't get that fixed, I'll be in constant pain and they'll have to fuse my thumb joint.
This berkeleying year can berkeleying get berkeleyed. What a berkeleying E36 M3show. I don't even berkeleying know where to start.
