Honda I love you but why do you insist on occasionally sprinkling in a phillips head screw in the stupidest possible place.

Yup. Brake job on an 04 Element.
Also was thinking of the brass phillips heads in the distrubutor on D-series.

Don't get me wrong, I'm in a pretty sweet spot. I'm just berkeleyin tired of people.
I wish the trailer had 5 on 4.5 instead of 5 on 5.5. The set of tires mounted on the 5 on 5.5 rims are 30 bucks a pair more than the 5 on 4.5 ones. Which makes me want to just replace all the hubs with new ones so i'd have brand new brakes and bearings and everything, but then I'm spending $400 to save $60. So I'm just going to buy the bare tires and mount them up.

It was berkeley this E36 M3 o'clock sometime this morning, not that anybody cares...
Allergies. This summer has been brutal, what with the fires and all the wind. Some days im lucky to be able to breathe normally. The last week I've woken up every day feeling like I have a bad head cold, but it's just morning grogginess and whatever is in the smoky air. I'm ready for this nonsense to be over.
I watch a lot of Funhaus and a fair bit of Achievement Hunter (both are Youtube channels under the Rooster Teeth) parent company. My favorite member at each channels, Adam Kovic and Ryan Haywood respectively, both just had a big scandal come out where they had sent explicit photos to fans. The fans were consenting adults, so at least they aren't total creeps, but both are married (one has 2 kids) and the photos were taken on company property or with company-branded merchandise visible in photos, plus Rooster Teeth has been rocked with enough PR nightmares lately, so both have left. I just don't get why, in this day and age and with the frequency that that E36 M3 ends up going public, either of them would do that. What was your plan? Did you really think it wouldn't get leaked or go public or blow up in your face, when it inevitably happens to pretty much everyone who engages in such actions? Just really disappointed.

Before emails we had a sales guy that would call in from the customers office and rant and chew out his inside sales guy on mistakes. He would apologize later when he came into the office and explain the rant.
It was all a show for the customer. I thought it was unnecessary but it worked for this sales idiot.
Registration problems mean I may miss challenge. Can't get the brake lights to work. And the way today has felt, well I thought it was too early in the season for a depressive episode.
today feels like 2020 v2.0
Intermittently through the last week or so the cursor on the iMac has just decided that it REALLY wants to be in one spot and not move. Everything seems to work otherwise- but the cursor does NOT want to leave wherever it is. Have tried disconneting the magic trackpad and using a USB mouse to no avail. Last few times I've just rebooted the computer and it's fixed it for a while. This morning NOTHING wanted to work until I think I booted the computer up into safe mode (or somehow got it booting from the HDD and not the SSD, I'm not sure). I had REALLY been wanting to hold out on having to replace this computer until the new ones come out next year (I hope....) but it's increasingly looking like it isn't going to hold out that long...
EDIT: And Safe Mode is really only a temporary stopgap since it doesn't load up the audio drivers and isn't using any acceleration on the video, both of which I would need to run FCP and edit together the video from the last show. Grrrr.

I referee hockey. There have been more than a few times that a coach calls me over, will get real close to me, and say "I'm about to blow up on you. It's all a show for the kids to get them ramped up, you made the right call - if you want to give me an unsportsmanlike, feel free".
Sometimes I'll play along and "argue" with them, sometimes I'll just stand there and ask if they're done before skating away. Gotta do what you gotta do.
Dear King Of Save As (aka my boss):
FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY PLEASE LEARN TO PRINT PDFS INSTEAD OF SAVING PHOTOSHOP DOCUMENTS AS PHOTOSHOP PDFS.
Unless you really like having hundreds of 500MB files scattered around the server doing nothing but wasting storage space. ESPECIALLY since you've been retreading the same PSD file for years now and just keep going over the old layers time after time after time after time... so that now a single 8-1/2x11 page with a couple images and some copy is half a gig. There is a reason the server fills up every year or two and you are spending a couple hundred bucks a month in remote backup service fees.
Your unwillingness to invest even the smallest effort in using your tools properly is costing you time and money. STOP IT. PLEASE.

I sell storage for a living and would love to be introduced to your boss.
Well, the good news is that I resolved the problem with the cursor on the computer... after trying a number of things to no avail and starting to research how best to do a clean install of the OS and searching a lot to see if others had this problem I thought a bit more about how it was acting... it was weird that the cursor always wanted to be in that ONE specific place and everything else worked properly. When booted back into the computer normally to take a screenshot of the screen with the cursor stuck, I happened to glance down below the computer and noticed my drawing tablet- and the fact that the pen (though inside of its sleeve that is supposed to block it from interacting with the tablet) had gotten knocked onto the tablet. Picked up the pen and moved it back to where it should be- and viola! No more frozen cursor.
Rant is that it took me half of the day to figure this out...

It's worse than you can possibly imagine from the rant above.
Everything he does is always in a tearing hurry because reasons. So as he develops something he saves generations and generations of old files. And since he always starts from an old project (be it Photoshop graphics or CAD drafting) any given file probably has data for 2 or 3 different projects in it. Multiplied by the dozens of generations because he never goes back and weeds out the abandoned options.
So not only is this mountain of digital detritus constantly building up, any time he / you need to find anything specific, there is huge time lost searching through irrelevant files for that particular nugget.
Plus, despite a perfectly good VPN, any time he works from home, there is a 30% chance the file he needs will end up saved locally on his home machine instead of the server.
For a person who is constantly stressed, I could point out 5 easy ways he could quickly reduce it. And have. With help and advice on how to organize things. But he never does.
The other thing he does that drives me batE36 M3: like me, he has 2x 34" monitors. But he never maximizes any window, which means not only is he working in 60% of the space he could, he has to search around to find the window he's looking for at any time, and then scroll and scroll to find the part of the drawing he wants to look at. All while constantly being distracted by the background noise of 12 different overlapping windows.
I cannot imagine what it must be like inside his head.

I got a nice wireless vertical mouse for my computer at work.
Every morning about 10:00a the cursor would start sidling across the screen even when my hand wasn't on the mouse. I'd have to argue with it to keep it in place. I usually took that to mean it was coffee break time.
After about a month, I finally realized the issue: One specific sunbeam that came through the blinds from the adjacent window. Turns out that my old wired mouse was still plugged in and lying upside down behind the monitor. When the sunbeam passed over the LED sensor it would slowly drive the cursor in response. By the time I was finished my coffee, it had passed on and wasn't affecting the mouse any more.
In reply to Duke :
The scary part is that story is not all that unusual! It has been easier to make technological advances to reduce the per GiB cost for storage than to train humans.
Which is good because trained humans don't put food on my table!
In reply to Duke :
I suppose I shouldn't complain too much... all of this has forced me to reboot the computer a number of times while I usually just let it sit running. For some reason after a while the computer just decides to not talk to the Time Capsule and do Time Machine backups- but it's now running one without issue.
I'm used to having asthma, been dealing with it all my life. But right now any sort of flair up is extra concerning due to obvious reasons. They told me I'd grow out of it when I was a kid, and I did. What they didn't tell me was it would come BACK when I got older. Sonofa...

I'm annoyed with a shipper right now who used DHL. This thing is going literally 16 miles from destination to my house. They shipped it - a 5x4 envelope, or similar in size - via DHL. Took 1 day to get to the DHL hub. DHL held it for one day, then delivered it to USPS. 2 days ago. USPS clearly hasn't unloaded it from the truck yet, probably because DHL is so cheap. Hopefully they'll unload it by 8AM tomorrow, otherwise I won't get it until Saturday best case, and more likely Monday or Tuesday.
Very minor rant as I don't need it anytime soon, but just knowing that it is so close is annoying.
