There is a nasty intestinal virus running around. My grandson was sent from the doctor's office to the ER last night to be tested for appendicitis.
Feel better soon.

Minor rant. Very minor rant.
Washing machine lost the spin cycle. berkeleyed around with it for a few hours, couldn't figure it out. Didn't sound like the motor was engaging on spin only.
Called appliance repairman. $109 flat fee for diagnosing.
He was here this morning. Showed at 6:59. Done by 7:08.
Sock worked its way under the drum and knocked the belt off. No idea why i didn't think to look for the belt....
$109 to remove a sock and put the belt back on.
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael :
I'd call that a MAJOR win. 1. He showed up. It's literally impossible to get anyone to show up around here for any service. 2. He fixed it for $109. That's now a full tank of gas.

Not sure what it is, because my wife and daughter have quite different symptoms from me and each other. Kiddo, was isolated from pretty much everyone for about 2 weeks until Thursday and Friday when she went back to daycare. She's got a super runny nose, and is coughing about one cough every 5 hours.
Wife has body aches and is super tired.
I've got the nausea, headache, and am really tired but cannot get back to sleep.
I should probably take a covid test, but that would involve going down the stairs.
At some point in time, my phone decided that my daily "do not disturb" cycle should mean that not only will it not make a noise when someone texts or calls me, but it won't even show me a notification. So unless I have Messages open, I will have no idea that someone is trying to get ahold of me.

As a former professional paint maker, I feel you. There's a ton of rentals around here that get repainted regular, and its all either white or gray. If I have to color match one more jail cell.....
Really color matching a jail cell is probably a grand old time compared to this, but both rate far below a root canal on the scale of happiness
First rule of house flipping is paint gray walls with white ceilings and add flat crown molding in eggshell white. Its hilarious they all look the same on Redfin. But it makes tiny houses fell bigger and cleaner. Better then the single color wall nonsense that was going around a few years back.
You forgot the island in the kitchen, the pot lights, and the cheap laminate flooring ...
Exactly what I was thinking reading about that paint job.
I wish that plywood/OSB chic would become the next big thing in flips. It is so stylish, there are literally no downsides.

And lots of cutting boards (like, 6 minimum) in the kitchen and signs in each room that tell you what you should be doing there (Eat, Sleep, etc.).

I can't wait for that fad to be over.

The house I recently bought had those signs. WTF? Oh, is this...a closet? I can store jackets and closet items in here? Hrm. Crazy. Oh, is this the laundry room? The gas and water hookup had me very puzzled before your sign mr realtor.

Not wrong!
I guess the rant is more "why didn't i think of checking basics" than anything.
Granted, until i watched him i had no idea how to access the drum.....
Well call it a minor win of $109 worth of schooling.

I missed a few pages, I'm glad you're both doing it and hope it's going well. We didn't do couples therapy but I have gone on my own a few times and it can be a bit difficult but it has almost always helped one way or another.

The Dancer and I make a game of it when we're watching HGTV shows, guessing how many cutting boards they'll have out in the kitchen and which rooms will have signs telling you what to do there. I am 100% suggesting her family get signs like that as joke gifts for her for next Christmas (last year I sent her Mom a link to a pack of 6 cutting boards to get her- mostly as a joke, but also because one of ours is about to split in half).
Ashyukun (Robert) said:and signs in each room that tell you what you should be doing there (Eat, Sleep, etc.).
My house is going to have those but every room will just say "Die".

If we were going out and looking at houses (not happening anytime soon, and we're more likely to design and build our own place when we do) it would be very tempting to creatively shuffle the signs around in the house...
We should come up with realistic room signs:
Sleep, beg, and occasionally get lucky.
E36 M3, shave and shower.
Fill your pie hole.
Hide your E36 M3.
Well, crap. Today was Apple's big media event announcing a bunch of new products- though most predictions had that they would not be announcing a replacement for the larger iMac yet I had my fingers crossed because I was really hoping they would and I'd be able to get a good replacement for my nearly 12-year-old 27" iMac. But not only did they not really announce a replacement for it- they effectively killed off the larger iMac line and made what would be the replacement for it exorbitantly expensive for even an Apple product (the Mac Studio & Studio Display configured decently and with a mouse/keyboard would be pushing $4k before tax). So I guess I'm going to be getting a higher-end 24" (likely refurbed) instead for less than half that- which will still be a massive step up in power and capability (though not in size, but hopefully the massive curved monitor my work is supposed to be sending will get here soon).
I'm trying to get my local ford dealer to quote me some vehicles for work.
3 lightenings and 10 e-transits. I don't care about cost or timeframe. I just want a written quote I can submit for payment.
I can hardly get the dealer to call me back.

He probably doesn't have them to deliver and has no idea what prices are going to do in the next 30 days.

Thanks, dude! It means a lot. Happily things are progressing well right now.

Like this?
Well... let me phrase it as a less than... optimal day.
Tomorrow needs to be an improvement, or we're going pear-shaped.
Edit: we have received information that tomorrow will be much better.
Back to our regularly scheduled program!

Dammit. I was hoping to hear better news. I also have an aging 27" iMac that could use replacement.
