On Saturday morning without any real warning, Marley (aka The Dog) had another episode seemingly identical to what happened back in August- with the only difference being that this time he didn't make it through it and we lost him. Thankfully my wife came running when I yelled for her when it happened and we were both there with him when he went (though I'll admit to it not being particularly peaceful, with my scrambling to try and figure out how to do rescue breathing on him when he stopped breathing).
Unfortunately, now we have to deal with it and try and move forward... he was a huge part of both of our lives, and there's little we do now where we don't feel the weight of his absence.

I'm sorry, buddy.
In reply to Ashyukun (Robert) :
Sorry, Marley was such a good boy. Always happy to see me (or anyone else).

I'm sorry to hear about that, man.

Sad news indeed. I'm sorry for your loss.
Damn these long lead times.
How many of what are we going to sell 4 months from now? Hell, I don't know, but that's how far in advance I need to be ordering the stuff to keep it on the shelves.
$15k in sensors and activation devices are on order and I don't know if I need twice that number or half of it.
I hate guessing.

Thanks, he really was the best.
My throat is killing me, came out of nowhere, covid, and strep negative and I feel completely fine. I think it is related to the nodes I have in my neck which I am seeing a specialist about tomorrow but the pain is like level 8 or 9 and I can't figure out the root cause.

Why do cubicle walls always seem to be getting shorter? We moved into a new office, and the walls are way shorter than before, which were already too short. Now I see the tops of everyone's head when at my desk, which is weirdly frustrating.
So you can "collaborate". LOL! Actually, at least where I work, the cubes are much smaller. If they still had 6' tall walls it'd feel like you're stuck in a well. We went from 8' x 8' cubes to a shared 6' x 12' with a rolling whiteboard in the middle. Our new cubes have a 4' tall wall and the top 1' is "privacy" glass. Now it's all bright and open but you can hear conversations from halfway across the building. I feel naked and exposed when I'm sitting at work so I'll just keep WFH as much as absolutely possible.

I feel the same with the short cubes. They actually inhibit conversation for people like me (introvert). The best setup I had was at State Farm, we had pods of 4 cubes, tall walls, and inbetween the pods was a little table and a decent size white board. Need to collaborate with your peers? Roll back in your chair 2 feet. Need privacy? Roll the other way in your chair.

I've dealt with the bullpen style cubicle, and I never enjoyed it. Could never really isolate yourself if you needed to get something done. And I agree on feeling naked and exposed, especially now that standing desks are an option.

There is nothing worse than losing a dog. I feel for you. They are so much a part of our lives.

I'm so sorry
I have been alive since 1970, so a few decades.
The 2020s can suck it. All of it. Any despicable thing one could suck and then some.
We are 9 days into this year and it can go berkeley itself.
That is all I can see to type.
In reply to Puddy46 :
Because berkeley you and your co-workers, that's why.
Oh, sorry. It's more COLLABORATIVE. Meaning they can keep an eye on your easier.
I didn't measure my wife's car before ordering QuickJacks, and now I have to try and replicate their Frame Extenders so I don't have to spend an additional $300 on a lift I haven't even received yet. Not a complicated part but still unfortunate..

That seems to have been the state of humans forever.

Dammit, I'm sorry to hear it. He was a cool dog in the little bit of time I saw him and he will be missed.
It sucks losing a great dog because dogs are better than people, I'm so sorry to hear it.
