berkeleying shiny happy person middle manager janitorial-staff reject at Ford who saved 3 cents a car by specifying Phillips head screws for the mode door motors on a final gen Fusion instead of Torx like someone who wasn't an shiny happy person would use

Does anyone else have problems of epic proportions when trying to use the Right Stuff dispenser can any time except when it's brand-new? I had at least half a can, but it was all stopped up. This time in the process of trying to clear whatever blockage was there, I managed to trigger the thing to just release its entire contents with no way to stop it.
Chuckles at Pete's misery.
Opens bag of hardware to hang closet door, see's it's all Phillips screws
Sad trombone

I don't buy those type cans anymore. I usually buy the smallest tube possible because anything left is going to end up in the trash a few months later.

I bought a pro grade foam gun and haven't regretted it once. You can throw a can on it, use a tiny bit of foam, then put a cleaning can on it and clean out the gun. Then next time you need foam repeat with no drama. Plus it looks badass.
About like that, but add a can to the top.

If it makes you feel better, it was likely the shiny happy person middle manager janitorial-staff reject at the Tier 1 supplier of the assembly that made the decision. But in reality it was likely a Tier 2 or 3 supplier that found a box next to the vending machine in the break room and offered a discount.

In my defense it said right there on the can that it was the right stuff.

I know this. My rage cares not.
I also remembered while trying to get the fourth Phillips screw in that I had a whole baggie of Torx screws scavenged from a Explorer rear evaporator case. Didn't remember for the first three, of course.
The 1.5 turbo engine is nice, mind you. But it is also clear that Ford needn't have bothered with making the windows roll down, because you cannot drive the car with the driver's window down. Major air flow pulsation, feels like you are inside a double kick drum.
SWMBO posts my custom cat litterbox on Scumbag Marketplace. Within 15 minutes , she gets an enthusiastic reply. Set up at time of 5pm today.
But then they start badgering her for Google Voice verification code. "I've been scammed before. I want to make sure your real." Uh...no. Google tells you not to share it WITH ANYONE. Right there in the instructions. Scambag gets belligerent when she doesn't fall for it. Blocked. berkeley off.
It's just over a week since I had a nerve ablation procedure done in an attempt to address some c-spine related pain issues.
They said things would get worse before they get better, and that's certainly proceeding per plan.
I was told that it would feel kind of like a sunburn.
To paraphrase Douglas Adams, it's feeling "like" a sunburn about the same way being drunk is "like" what is experienced by a glass of water.

You might want to check your water heater. You may have a hot water leak making it run a lot.
Checked and checked. Aside from thermal expansion pressure bleeding, which it has done since we moved in, no leaks.
Top element is 15ohm, bottom is 15.5ohm, so both within spec, at least "general" spec because I can't find Rheem 3380/4500 watt element specific specs anywhere.
Guess it's time to buy a kill-a-watt meter and start checking every appliance. When that fails to provide results, I guess I start rewiring from the service entrance?

Probably more of a major rant but-
So we know I had "vertigo" since July of last year. Walking is.... interesting. Standing is usually ok. Driving is off the table. Been to pt, ent, etc. Medicine didn't do E36 M3. They're FINALLY referring me to Neuro. Not even close to my first time riding in that rodeo- and I don't even care what they tell me. I just want some dammit answers. Swmbo makes enough to cover us both but I'm berkeleyin bored and it's difficult to get people to even read a resume for some reason. Found the perfect job for me (WFH bike tech for danscomp - E36 M3 I built 3 bikes in my living room over the last couple years, pretty sure I can handle selling BMX over the internet) and they don't wanna listen.

Yeah, I'd start with a Kill-a-Watt and unplugging everything I didn't need. You also might try turning off any appliances at the breaker and see what the meter reads after an hour. I would kill the water heater, range, refrigerators, heat pump, and any other large appliance. Get the house down to lights alone and take a meter reading at the beginning of the hour and at the end of the hour. Unless you have high wattage bulbs in everything, your reading should be a pretty low number.
Do you heat with a heat pump? It could be the compressor is off line and the emergency heat strips are running. They draw 8k-10k watts. They will make a significant impact on your electric bill.
In reply to Toyman! :
I just spent an hour playing phone tag with the power company to find my daily usage breakdowns on their website. Turns out those spy on you all the time digital meters are almost good for something.
Seeing major usage spikes at night while everyone is asleep that I can't easily explain, but also throughout the day usually the hour BEFORE I turn on the oven, then the hour before the youngest goes to bed.
These big monthly spikes started in the second half of November. According to the weather chart overlayed on usage, it has no bearing on temperature, so now I'm trying to figure out who got what kind of plug in things in November.
Teenager got a lamp with 4 LEDs, pellet stove got a full deep internal cleaning including fans and blades, wife and I got a heated mattress pad for Xmas but it's only 100 watts on full hot.
I should probably pull the dryer apart and check it's elements now.
I think this is going to turn into its own thread.
In reply to RevRico :
You've got me interested. I had a huge water bill a couple years ago(2.5x normal usage). It turned out that my water softener was stuck in rinse mode.
In reply to RevRico :
Do they show how many watts the usage spikes are? Are the spikes consistent in wattage? There isn't much in a house that draws more than 1500 watts. Basically the oven, clothes drier, water heater, and emergency heat strips. Do you have resistance baseboard heat or forced air heat in the rooms? They may also be in the 2000-4000 watt range.
In the 1000-1500 watt range, you are looking at space heaters, hair dryers, and kitchen appliances. Do your bathroom fans have heaters built into them?
A few other items that can draw 1Kw+ to look out for would be kettles, microwaves, AC units, hairdryers, and high-end gaming PCs.

Stop calling women over the age of 18 "girl".
Seriously, just stop.
I don't care how you were raised, and frankly, given your parents, I'm really surprised you were raised that way.
I am 10 years older than you and I know not to do it. So you can learn not to also.
You go girl.
PW called me on that once and when I blew her off she got mad at me. Stop it, I'm a grown woman. A few months later she started wearing a shirt for some local women's cause that said on the front because I'm a girl.
You can guess how that went
