The bid date is in 5 days. You sent an addendum that goes through the plans one page at a time and basically says to throw out each page and replace it with a new page. So the hours of work I have done so far have to be completely redone. No indication of what has changed. Nothing, just throw out the original plans and use this new set.
Thanks for that. Add this to the many reasons I don't particularly like architects.

Son of a.... And now, because I totally blanked out somehow while backing the trailer into the shop, I not only obliterated the turn signal housing, but I also knocked off the bit of angle iron that held it on. Me so toopid.

Dang, did you hit one of the bollards? I'd think the building itself wasn't tough enough to do that much damage.
I went to the new shop yesterday after work to caulk the floor gaps so I could epoxy on Sat. 30 minutes out there. Forget my wallet at work. No worries. Coworker will grab it and I'll stop by on my way home. Broke the caulking fun 18" into the job. Forget I have no wallet until I'm standing in line at Home Depot with a caulking gun. E36 M3. Drive 30 minutes to work, just to drive 30 minutes back to the shop. I'm almost 2 hours late starting this job. Ugh.

Yes, it will.

Once I blanked out and drove my Accord passenger mirror into my brick garage wall.
I was aggravated but the combination crushing sound of plastic and glass was really awesome.
I'm flabbergasted at how many times a philosophy can be disproven, on a global scale, for nearly two centuries, and people still flock to it. Absolutely dumbfounded out here.
5 yr old temper tantrums and she got me in the nards...
Apparently an EKG showed my dad had a heart attack.
How mild of a heart attack is it if you didn't notice it?
My boss, not being the type of boss to let things go uncorrected for long periods of time, did my review today before he goes on vacation next week. Turns out, when he said he wasn't that type of boss, his pants were flaming hotter than Cheetohs. To be fair, I was not a pleasant person last year. To be fair, I've been working on it for about 3 months. To be fair, they knew my qualifications and provided me with no training or correction and when manpower was shifted to help me, that was counted against me. Though I must say, he was aware of how expensive things have gotten so "to be fair" I was given a 2.5% raise.
I thought I could stick it out there for a while, sucking it up and powering through with my head down. I thought wrong. I did some helper work with an electrician up the road a ways when I got out of the Corps, I'm wondering if he's still in business. Either way, I may not know where I'm going but I do know I'm using/selling my PTO and quitting with prejudice before they judge that I have sufficiently passed on my "technical knowledge" and take further action. I really hate corporate America.
I have GOT to fix the suspension in the Volvo.
It is fine on asphalt Ohio roads, but sixty-odd miles of whumpwhumpawhumpa Michigan concrete slabs made my spine feel like it is now Grape-Nuts.

I got clunked in the head with a schedule 40 pipe yesterday at work. 6 stitches to close the wound at my hairline.
My manager and I discovered we no longer have a medical unit at work. We used to have a nurse on at least during the day, but now that office is dedicated to our "health counselor". Seriously, they ended the contract with the hospital to save money. We have almost 6000 employees in this building, just short of 2000 hotel rooms, and an unknown number of people who just visit for the day, and there is no medical care to be found?
After I got hurt and was bleeding, it took 20 minutes for Security to come to me with paperwork. Ten minutes of filling that out and then 15 to get me a taxi to the hospital to get stitched back up. Add another 10 minutes for the taxi ride and we are talking 55 minutes from the moment I started bleeding till I got to the hospital. It was a good thing it was only a small head wound and not an artery!

Nascar is just not good racing and just WWF for billboards on wheels.

I was a big fan when I was younger, but when they started handicapping the MN12 Thunderbirds to keep them from dominating super speedways, I started having doubts. Gave up entirely when they went to the standard body templates. I still catch a race (or part of one) on rare occasions, but it's just not as fun to watch as it used to be.

I remember being a little kid, like about that age where you start to really be aware, so maybe 4ish? and getting all excited over getting to watch the Indy 500.
Show started and I was like.... wait, these aren't cars, I wanted to see cars racing! This sucks!
Young Pete knew what was up.
Also, this was when NASCAR still used actual stock body parts, and there were things like people discovering that Buicks were faster if the rear bumper was off, so they'd hold the bumper on with super weak bolts, and a teammate would helpfully bump them until the bumper fell off during the race.
Also, they raced Buicks. And Oldsmobiles, and Pontiacs...
I think it's critically important that you guys stop watching nascar, if only so you can stop telling everyone how much you dislike it.
I quite enjoyed the xfinity race, and I am not a fan of Daytona and Talledega.
So I found that if I sell my PTO, RSU, and cut the GTI down to liability only insurance I can make it a year on union electrician apprentice wages without having to sell things off thanks to my wife's income. After that I will be able to afford to continue to stay where I'm at so long as nothing breaks and, as we all know, AC units and air handlers and roofs in Florida are bullet proof. Snark aside, what do I say to a doc to get some of those 90's zonk pills to make me able to pretend to care about my office job? The other option is see if I can get my old service dept job back and tolerate the manager over there better. Undoubtedly with a major pay cut to put me in my place but that's on me for getting uppity.
Also, the Mustang is going to waste sitting in my driveway and I'm thinking about getting it running right-enough to not feel bad about moving it along to someone that will drive it. I'm not hopeful that it will see a track this year, it didn't last year and the future is not bright.

I try to watch some of the big races (Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte), local (Richmond, Bristol), and always the road courses, sometimes in person. It just seems like they're so happy to either throw the caution or better yet just let someone blatantly take someone out to set up the finish it's just too predictable.
Cancer still sucks. Just got word that an old friend was diagnosed. Thankfully very early and hopefully fully treatable.
Went to the Pittsburgh International autoshow today. I'm not in the market for anything, but I really wanted to see a new Miata and the new 400Z.
Of course, neither one was there. But, there were plenty of SUVs.

Kevin James really just isn't funny.
Corollary rant: DW has been binge watching King Of Queens. By extension, it is also not very funny. Mostly just annoying and cringey.
