I'm taking three undergrad classes at the local university this semester. All three of them are 100% on-line. I will not physically set foot on campus at any point. I, also, am a grown-ass adult who buys groceries and owns a house. Because my major is not an "on-line major" - whatever in the hell that's supposed to mean - I have a mandatory $50 Commuter Student Meal Plan that I have to pay for every semester. Apparently, I can use it at the restaurants and vending machines at this place I will not be. The only good news, if you want to call it that, is that my daughter will have classes on-campus so I can just give her my student ID and she can use it.
I am now remembering why I thought college was pretty much just a load of bullE36 M3 the first time I did this....
I had to schedule an appointment for a colonoscopy back in April, wait you can't just schedule that, you have to have an office visit first. Ok, call to set that up, "we are booking out to August now" what? Yep, OK, I will take your August appointment. That appointment is in 2 days, those berkeley bags just called me, canceled and rescheduled for berkeleying November. What a bag of dicks.
I get your a specialist, I get you went to a lot of school. Well I am too and I did too, I scheduled 2 trips around this office visit, inconveniencing other specialist that went to a lot of school. I doubt that factored into the decision to delay my appointment 3 months.

We have a shortage of dermatologists here, so my appointment was a long wait, and twice they called just before the appointment to reschedule. The third time I said, no, you're not rescheduling, this is the third time. You made a commitment to me, I expect you to honour it. When she started to tell me how busy they were I stopped her in her tracks and said, that's not my problem. You made the appointment, and I will be there at that time, I'm not going to argue with you about it.
I made the girl on the phone cry.
I didn't feel bad.
I've been sick as berk the last couple of days. I made an appt at my local Walgreens to get a covid test but slept right past the appt. I called out sick today and I don't feel any better. Looks like I'm calling out sick tomorrow too.

Buddy turned out to be a super nice guy. Long story short, the bike was initially $6000. It was now $5000, and I was hoping for $4500. It had been sitting a year he told me. It was ugly, needed a few hundred bucks in parts, and he admitted that really wanted it gone. I told him I don't normally bring my trailer so I have a day to think it over. And in this instance, I would not have been coming back, I'm not looking for another project. But if we could get it done for $3500 I could probably make that work. He countered with $3800. I stayed silent for about 5 minutes and said $3600 is all I can do. OK, he says, let's do it.

When I moved to Pittsburgh, they told me it would be an 18-month to see the local dermatologist. I balked at that and they found it in the goodness of their hearts to book me 6-month later. So I took that appointment. The guy everyone goes to looked me over for about 45 seconds and said "Yep, looks good." I am covered in moles. Head to friggin toe. Guy didn't even look at me at all.
Said screw that and found another practice who took me in. My current derm, documented all my moles with photos, and looked me over with a fine tooth comb. He also found melanoma on my about 6 years after the first guy didn't bother to look me over. My current derm literally saved my life.
Long rant, but you made the absolute right choice demanding to see someone.

Charge them an appointment cancelation and rescheduling fee. As they would do to you if you pulled the same stunt. Marvel at to looks on their faces when you do.

Yeah, you're lucky if an Altima still has a bumper even attached. It's likely still laying at the site of the last accident that they drove off from because they have a suspended license and no insurance.

My FIL tested positive last week. He's 75, and had a massive stroke in his 40s so he's wheelchair bound, and in a nursing home. We expected the worst.
He's been asymptomatic since day one. He always has been an ornery old coot that never did anything the way he was supposed to.
Hope you find it as easy as he is. Get well soon.
