Trying to find a rather old part (drum stuff) and find a listing for the closest match I'm likely to find, make an offer, "sorry, item already sold"

damn.

Find another listing, for a whole kit, ask if he'll part it out, "sorry, already sold"

Thats it. No more. I've been trying to find a matching piece for nearly two years, finally found two, and no dice. It isn't a critical deal at all, but damn if I didn't get my hopes up.

What are you looking for? I'll keep an eye out too

Is it just me, or has human behavior at gas stations devolved to near boat ramp levels of stupidity and inconsideration?

When I'm fueling my truck, I put in 30-40 gallons, so I'm there for a while, and I'm always amazed.  Sit in the car for 5 minutes before/after fueling, don't pull up to the front pump, pull up on the wrong side, disappear into the store never to return...

WTH??  Getting gas isn't that difficult.

My favorite are the guys with trailers that leave them hang out and block the entire driving lane behind them. Oooh or maybe the guys that forget they have trailers so they're cockeyed and taking up 4 pumps.

EVs can't come down in price fast enough.

The Focus I will be passing on to my youngest kid had a slight belt chirp when I bought it. As I caught up on the maintenance items the chirp became a squeak. I changed out the idler pulley and it was gone for a few days, then it became a screech.

I pulled the new pulley off and compared the rolling resistance of it to the old pulley and it seemed much higher. I popped the dust caps off of the bearings, inspected and oiled them then re-installed the new pulley.

More screeching.

I pulled the new one off and installed the old pulley.

Chirpy, warbling screeching.

So, I am now headed back to the parts store for another new pulley.

The simplest E36 M3 can be absolutely infuriating.

I keep forgetting which side my car fuels on since I have both flavors, and if you think people who leave their cars at the pump is infuriating, try going in to take a dump, buy some food, and get stuck 5th person in line behind someone who is doing some sort of complex transaction with a 3rd party on the phone and there is only one cashier working.

I guess you can pay at the pump, if you enjoy getting your credit card info stolen.

5 hockey games yesterday; 3 down today with 3 left to go, and 2 games tomorrow. My feet hurt.

Not really a rant, just stating that the obvious, expected result is indeed what is happening. I'll be very happy with myself when the check comes in 40 days.

I was in the '95 Miata and I started to turn at a light and the drivers side mirror glass went "my people need me" and dropped off. I heard a clank and then a tinkle and so i continued on my merry way.

Once it was dark after raining for 3 days straight. Why not during the day?

TIG welded some stainless bungs on for a friend; they're for wideband O2 sensors.  Got them done, the plug in one of them wouldn't unscrew as I must've gotten a bit of weld penetration at the bottom.  Had to carefully drill it out with successively larger drill bits; finally succeeded without damaging the threads.  New sensors screw in, everything looks good..

We go to the next job, putting the front coil springs in the car.  Spring compressor is trying to kill us; slips twice, and when we succeed in compressing the spring enough to get it in the spring pocket, we can't remove the spring compressor from inside the spring.  Finally end up throwing all of the parts in the lawn, which felt better.  At least the welding job went OK right?

Then when my buddy went to put them on the car, he realized he hadn't put the mating flanges for the manifolds on them.  berkeley.  I guess we'll end up cutting the pipes in two and welding them up again.

Dark two-lane road, almost out in the country. One headlight approaches. Closing speed probably 70-80 mph. Motorcycle or car? And which lane is it really in? Seemed to "move like a car," if that makes sense, but no way to tell. Turned out to be a Jeep Patriot with one (out of two) working El Cheapo crappy aftermarket LED headlights and zero (out of two) working parking lights.

Come on, people. It's not that hard; you don't even have to get out of the car. Park in front of a store window, turn on your headlights, and count the reflections. If there's fewer than there ought to be, berking do something about it.

Standard Time resumes tonight, so even more of most people's regular day will be dark. The cool kids will be able to see the road, not to mention be seen.

Any time I go to Micro Center to browse, I have a sales associate on my case within two or three minutes.

I want to make several high dollar purchases.  Standing there for a half hour looking at tablets that are locked and no password is posted, so I can't poke around in them.  Bump my head on the stand trying to find the power switch on one of them.  I know exactly which ones I want, they are in a locked case so I can't just pick them up and go to checkout.

Half hour later, my back hurts, I'm out the door.

Guess I am not buying any electronics today.

I've had a great weekend at my first National Tour event. Decided to have lunch with my friends instead of heading home. Came out to find someone had keyed the door on my Miata.

Thank you for putting in the time to get out there for those games.

I appreciate what hockey officials do, especially putting up with the parents and coaches.

Attempts to explain time change from daylight savings to standard time were met with extreme resistance.

EDIT: and now her 6 yr old brother doesn't like clothes.

It is still listed and had a friend reply.  No responce yet.

Wife is sick. I'm sick. Kiddo was sick most of last week, including an ER visit that got us home at 2AM. She was coughing really bad this morning only for it to clear up about 30 minutes after we decided to keep her home and past the late-drop off time.

IWorked way too much at the side gig this weekend, I'm exhausted on top of being sick. I'm sort of drowning in the real job right now, will probably be up late working on this... and I just want to take a nap. I want everyone to stop emailing me for the rest of the day so that I can deal with the 124 emails I have in my inbox right now (most of which didn't need to include me, but I have to figure out which ones those are).

Went and crewed for another racer this weekend and saw some nice trailer and truck combos, plus some interesting stacker setups for formula cars. The rant is that now I'm having to constantly fight the urge to make an awful financial decision, and trade in my current $7000 total truck and trailer setup for something many times that.

They berkeleyed up all the lanes around my neighborhood and route to work to add bicycle lanes, yet bicyclists are still riding in the middle of the road. Ungrateful E36 M3s.

Our small city has an extremely vocal Bicycle Mafia who show up at every planning commission meeting and scream for more bike accommodations.  As a result they have berked most of the main streets in town, in a place that really only has 2 E/W routes and 2 N/S routes across town.

All to accommodate maybe 50 cyclists in a town of 10-12,000.

The city of Charleston did a test on one of the bridges for a bike lane. They blocked off the lane and allowed cyclists to use it for several weeks. In the beginning, there were many cyclists using the lane. In the end, there were 2 so they decided to not block off the lane. The cyclists went nuts, storming all the planning meetings. Making sure they were the wheel squeaking the loudest.

So now they are building a $70 million dollar draw bridge for cyclists and pedestrians. I'm sure it will be popular for the week or 3 per year when the weather isn't 99 degrees and humid or cold and rainy. It seems like a great way to use maximum funds to make life better for the fewest number of people.

Without getting too political...

Today is an election day in Ohio, and it's really tough in an odd year to find good information on all the smaller local people on the ballot. Heck, I'm not even finding solid rundowns and analysis comparing the people running for Mayor, let alone the ones running for city council or school board.
