We were also rather unprepared for the volume of snow we got.  Typically, it's 2-3 inches and I have a snow pusher that I can just run over the driveway to have it cleared out in about 15-20 minutes.  The 10+ inches that we got was quite a bit more than for which that type of tool was designed.

I like the out-of-the-box thinking though.  In what way did that not work?  Straps keep it from hitting the ground to get a good clearing?

That scam has been going around for years. The standard response is, "Buy the report yourself and if you buy the vehicle I'll reimburse the report cost."

Obviously on a kart without a VIN or chassis number this isn't valid, but it works the rest of the time.

In reply to wae :

It didn't work too bad considering. Yeah, the straps prevented it from scraping all the snow off the concrete but it got like 96% of it. It's a wet, heavy snow so it got too heavy to push. I had to clear a small section at a time. But then disaster struck literally a minute after I took the picture:

The end snapped off because it's hollow and made out of cast metal. This broom was $40 at Lowe's 🤬

In the 70s, so many movies has the protagonists die at the the end, often needlessly or pointlessly. (Think of the end of Vanishing point or Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry.) They reflected the bleak, almost Nihilistic attitude of the country at the time.

it's hard to think of mary dark movies from the 90s, because society, as a whole, was feeling pretty good about itself.

I think these grim movies are a reflection of ourselves as the moment.

It definitely is the canary-in-the-coal-mine showing our society, but it's still annoying.

It's kinda like Superman recently, grim and dark. Amazons Secret Level? All grim and dark. The Penguin? Grim and dark.

I don't mind it sometimes as a profound story is cool, but I feel like something new should be light hearted at least a little. I almost watched Skeleton Crew because it seemed like it would be less dark, but ended up watching gun and guitar stuff on YouTube

In high school I swept wooden shavings and general garbage out of new houses being built.

We used wooden broom poles and got lazy and tried to push big pieces of wood or drywall out rather than pick them.  We broke 2-3 a week thus pissing off the contractor/owner.

They can't take and force.

Rosemary Balsamic are my faves.  In defense of the Wheat Thin crowd, I go to a specific store that carries tomato basil wheat thins.  They are excellent.

Now, be warned, I'm in Canada where we sometimes have food with spicing in it, so it might be a bit tough on guys from the Bland States of America.  How you guys can rag on British food is beyond me.

I would but I don't have a rake 😅

I ended up running to Horror Fright, which is about a block away, to grab a scoop shovel.

It was the last one in stock. None of the hardware or home improvement stores had any snow shovels in stock.

Wait, whut?

Where the hell have you been eating in America that was a bland as British food?

And you're going to say Canadians, who don't get excited about anything at all, make spicier food than Americans?

Canada could have had it all: American industry, British Culture, and French Cuisine.

Instead, they got: French Industry, American culture, and British cuisine

We got new Cintas pants at work.  They're elastic waisted.

Which would be great, if they weren't sized by the minimum size.  Which they are.

I'm basically walking in such a way that keeps my pants from sliding off my body.

Time to see where I stuck my mechanic's belt (it has no exposed metal that can inadvertently scratch paint)

Any place I've been other than the south west, where Mexicans do most of the cooking.

White gravy.  No.

I was in a Greek restaurant in Wisconsin (I know, an extreme) that apparently had never heard of lemon juice or oregano.

EWR TSA.  That's my whole rant.

EDIT: No, there's more.  $15 for a 16oz (non-craft) beer to try and dilute my rage?  berkeley you OTG, that's twice what it costs on the freaking plane.
