I think NASCAR's real point is that you are still paying attention. Getting angry with a driver's double standard is just fine if you are watching the next race to see what happens.

I know, and honestly I am going to sit by the pool under an umbrella and drink Piña coladas until I cannot see straight. I am the minder for 15+ women including my wife who are there for a bachelorette party.

SOOOO much fun for my first vacation in almost 3 years

I'm so sick of dealing with the berkeleying plumbing system in my house. Mid 60's FL house with septic system. This past February after two years of dealing with a slow draining (inadequate/ancient) septic drain field I had the tank pumped (again) and dug up the entire drain field and installed a new tank filter, new distribution box and an 18x20 foot 5 run Infiltrator system with a 6" rock bed. Lined the whole thing, sides and top, with landscape cloth designed specifically for this sort of thing. Of course we did all of this in the rain...

Now the damn toilets and drains are backing up again and my wife doesn't seem to get the whole "don't flush anything right now" plea. I cleaned the tank filter (meh) and the water level in the tank looks fine so I'm guessing I have a main line blockage somewhere right above the tank. Of course this happens on Sunday night so all I can do is damage control and make calls first thing this AM and throw more money at it. Tank is scheduled to be pumped today (just in case) and I've got a drain cleaning company coming out to rout all my lines and camera inspect them for root invasion, etc. I'm so berkeleying over this.

E36 M3ty Goodyear tires on our work truck, and bureaucratic bullE36 M3 keeping us from buying decent tires!

We NEED an AT tire, we take our truck into any number of agricultural fields, all times of year, and down 100s of miles of gravel and unimproved roads every year.

We finally replaced the, get-stuck-on-wet-grass Goodyears that came stock on our '12 4x4 Silverado, with some Goodyear Wrangler AT/S, not by choice, it's what "purchasing" picked for us when we told them we needed an all terrain tire.

Tires were new in April of this year, we have replaced 1 tire for a bulge/impact bubble, have patched the other 3, and one of the ones that's already been patched is leaking again. Most of this has been in the last month, so we've been at the tire shop at least once a week, for the past month.

Today I ruined my newest khakis, I wasn't dressed for field work, or swapping a spare tire today.

After some investigating, I found out I can purchase the tires on my P-card, I don't have to have to have our purchasing specialist get them like we were originally told back in April, but I'm limited to purchasing them from a "select list of vendors." I'm stuck with vendors for Michelin, Goodyear, and Bridgestone.

So, I either put some more E36 M3ty Goodyears on the truck, some E36 M3ty Bridgestones, or some get-stuck-on-wet-grass from Michelin on our truck.

I swore off Bridgestones after the horrible Duelers I had on my Jeep years ago, they are still the worst tires I've ever had on anything, but these Goodyears are giving them a run for the money. Maybe the Revos aren't as E36 M3tacular as the pre-Revos were.

I'm about to put some 6 ply Cooper AT/3s on the truck, and let whatever happens, happen. We can't be wasting time with flat tires all the time.

I've got e-rated goodyear duratracs on my k3500. They've done really well so far (15k) and are real aggressive.

In reply to bigdaddylee82:

It may be too late but have you looked at the Goodyear Duratracs? They are a "commercial" tire that was designed for powerline maintenance trucks. They wear well and are very aggressive for an AT tire. I have them on my Wrangler and have been impressed. Great mud traction (for an AT) and they did well in the sandy conditions when I was still in Florida. When I moved to Idaho last winter, they also had great snow traction. They can also be studded for #16 studs (when new). I have ran them for the past 20k miles and they are wearing well. They are just a touch louder than the utterly horrible Wrangler STs that were OE. Mine are 33x12.5x15 and are C-rated. Most of the other sizes are E-rated.

maybe that's what they think … the only races I watch on purpose are the road races, Martinsville, and Darlington … assuming I'm at home on those weekends … I haven't taped a NASCAR race in nearly 20 yrs …

so they can think that all they want … doesn't add to the advertising revenue

plus, it's sorta dumb to have a sponsor for a series that your audience doesn't even know what they are/what they sell

Why are correct auto parts so hard to find? Trying to get a proper AC Delco cap and rotor for the Suburban has been an exercise in frustration. Autozone: nope but have the wires for $62. NAPA: nope, but tried hard to tell me that their parts are better. Chevy/GMC dealership: we don't sell the cap separately, so you can only buy the entire distributor assembly for $375, wires will be $195. uhh, no.

Finally at the far side of town I try the KOI: They have the cap and rotor!!! And only $80 for the pair. But of course they don't carry the wires in this central hub store and would need a couple of days to get them.

Now let's talk about finding a TPS for a '94 Ranger...... grrrrr

The average car age is 11.5 years in the U.S. now, it's not terribly unrealistic to expect a GM dealership to stock a part for a 16 year old GMC.

Dear DTE Energy. The lights in my house have been flickering at random for over a week. This morning, power went out in approximately half of my house. I checked the fuse panel and nothing was blown. The circuit magically came back on after 10-15 minutes, followed by much light flickering. This is the second time I have called because this is not acceptable and it seems pretty obvious it is a service issue. I understand that your guy already came out and "fixed" the issue by saying "nothing wrong here". But, I find it highly unlikely the problem is inside my house since THE HOUSES ON BOTH SIDES OF MINE ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. Unfortunately, my neighbors have also been dissatisfied with your response. The house to the south also had a complete temporary failure on half his house a couple days ago, and he thinks it killed his AC unit. Please get your act together. OK? Thanks.

Uhhh, do you have 2 meters on your house? Because if you have 1 electric service and only half your house is out, the problem is your house, not the electric service.

Duke wrote: Uhhh, do you have 2 meters on your house? Because if you have 1 electric service and only half your house is out, the problem is your house, not the electric service.

It can be, but it can also be the service line. I strongly suspect the service line because it seems like all the houses on my block are doing the exact same thing.

Edit: My understanding is that the two service lines that come into a home each carry 120 volts and typically power half the service panel. It is not unheard off that half the service can be interrupted. Seems like a pretty big coincidence that my neighbors on either side are having the same symptoms at the same time if the problem is on my side of the meter.

Possibly unrelated but interesting: I was in the shower last week during a particularly intense bought of light flickering and my dog started barking like crazy. My wife thought somebody was lighting fireworks, but she looked out the window and saw it was the wires at the top of the power pole arcing in spectacular fashion. I don't think they are supposed to do that...
