My Mom is not talking to me. Not because she is mad at me or anything. I call it her being quiet. When she is quiet something is wrong.

I had to leave Oahu :(
Also, if you are a poor planner, communicator and/or leader and cop an attitude after sending me to the wrong address twice, nowhere near where I need to be, you don't have the right to be upset when I make my own plans.
In reply to Ashyukun: hey man, give me a call, my phone at your number but my sister is a vet and much more reasonable.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks! It wasn't too bad of a bill it seems, and hopefully he'll be getting better- apparently he has pancreatitis. :( I'll keep that in mind for down the line though- I think I still have yours in my phone.

Mine has been texted me about not wanting to look at my garbage cans on garbage day. So I blocked her. I work 7:30-5:30 will get them when I get home. She has been moving them around my property so she does not have to see them when I am not home which I have told her not to do.
So they are all in the back of my F350 right now right in front of her window but still on my property. Suck it 85 year old lady with nothing better to do then complain, keep this up and I will start welding and grinding again after 7:00 at night.
In reply to SnowMongoose:
No problem being butt-hurt.
But as that goes away- just walk away, and stay away. Otherwise, the risk of you holding it over their head will just fester in you (who cares about them).
I'd not bother with a gift, and if his mom asks, tell her the truth and move on.
Their poor choice is their loss more than your as I see it.

I only found out today from my coworker that he went to our director
boss came in today after his two days off. Told him straight off what my co-worker did.. and it is good, he had already told our director a week ago what he was going to do to my co-worker.
what is really funny, as I was informed, as they backdated everything to my original date of hire.. as the "new guy", I have seniority over half the staff
In reply to mad_machine:
Congrats on the seniority bump.
I love when shiny happy person schemes backfire and the good guy wins.
Was trying to arrange to go pick up a car 3 hours away this afternoon- as of 10:30am have still not heard back. Why is communication so hard for people selling cars? 20 years ago, I'd have been a bit more understanding- but in this day and age, the vast majority of people can get their email right on their phone and if you're trying to sell a car should at LEAST be checking and responding to it more frequently than every 12 hours or so. I really want this car, but am increasingly getting frustrated with trying to actually get it, especially with SWMBO going, "I thought you were looking for a winter beater, not a $2000 Miata..."
Why does getting a car have to be such a pain?
Seems like the dealer barely does work, and then gets upset when they can't change their crap.
And while I "defended" the dealers in terms of being independent, as a customer, I see the OEM logo first, and barely notice who they are. So when I find a car at another dealer- it should not be nearly as hard to get the car moved. Otherwise, it should not be a big deal for me to go to the other dealer to get the car I want.
This process took so long to find the damn thing that we are out a month of payment.
We spend so much time to be "One OEM"- and the dealers screw that all up.
I called 10 people yesterday. One was a city inspector about mowing a vacant lot. 7 were calls to landscapers about mowing said lot, one was to my mechanic about my broken truck, and the last one was to my insurence agent about insurance for said truck.
One motherberkeleyer called me back. ONE. I guess the rest of you don't like money.
Dan was the only dude to call me back and it was only 5 minutes after I left a message. Dan gets to mow the lot. I don't care if he's not the cheapest, he replied in a timely fashion, so he gets my money. WTF people?
Last couple of days I've just been wiped out. Getting proper sleep, no abnormal stress, clear breathing (no sniffles or anything), and I don't feel sick.
Bodies are unpredictable.
So... even though it is two weeks before school starts, every uhaul car-hauler is rented in the province.
Read that again; IN THE PROVINCE
I want the Swift racecar gone. I told the guy I would deliver. So I called another trailer place, and $95 for a day berkeley-yes please and thanks.
sigh STILL have heard nothing back from the seller of the car I'm trying to buy. Looking back through their email responses it seems they've almost all come between about 4:30pm and 8:00pm... so we'll see if I hear anything back from them in the next few hours.
Ugg! Collaborating on projects, just let me do it already, get out of my way, leave me alone, I'd have had it done 2 weeks ago, and it wouldn't look like the E36 M3 stain it currently is.
No, no, their name is on this too, their funding is in this too, they need to be a part of it. If they NEED to be a part of it, why are they the ones who constantly miss deadlines, screw up formatting, and can't compete a simple task? How am I better at "their job," than they are, and they're the ones with the alleged formal training in it???
Sigh...
Also, other parties involved, if you have additional critiques, why are you waiting until it's already been live and available to the public for 2 weeks, before you bring them to my attention? You all got copies at least a day prior to release. Additional critics, yes I can change the format that we've used since day one, that we all agreed upon, but that's why we all had drafts to see and agree up on in the first place.
I'm cranky!

I still find it funny you're looking farther north for a car :)
Meanwhile, the minivan is gone, and my search has begun, I keep thinking of trolling the lots in Lexington, so I can find something less likely to have lived through several heavily salted winters. As for rants, my rant is that I got to deal with a typical used car salesman last night. Yes, they need that sale, but jeez, I am not going to just buy the second car I've test driven when there are several other models I'm considering...
How oblivious can you berkeleying be? This is the third day this week I come up on a dark colored Accord with no lights on doing about 10mph under the speed limit at 4:30am. I commute on a parkway with no street lights where no one does the speed limit. How this asshat hasn't been hit yet is beyond me.

In this case, it's where the cheap Miata is. We'll find out just what kind of condition it's in later this afternoon when I'm up there hopefully buying it. :P
If you want eyes on anything here in Lexington you find online just let me know, I'd be more than happy to go take a look at it for you.

How he has not been pulled for DUI is another question.
Boss stopped in our shop at 5:45 a.m. this morning, she had to come in early as she's usually up to an hour later. She delivered some parts I ordered... they were wrong, btw.
I had to sign off on a warning that I been late 5X in the last six months. I signed no problem then kindly reminded her w/ raising voice you picked a fine time to start enforcing things around here. Where the berkeley you been the last 3-1/2 years where ya let everybody get away all kinds of E36 M3. A trainee that couldn't make 40 hours/ week, the afternoon guy who blows off his weekend shift an hour before starting time that he signed for (that's a write-up right there), on and on.
I reminded her that I came in every time she called, I'm old school and believe in covering the shift even when berkeleytards call off w/ no specific reason. I added that that ain't gonna happen anymore thanks to the tardy warning, you're ruining me I said.
I still cover my midnight shift alone on weekends, a lotta times 4 weeks in a row before a day off. That's changing too. Two weeks on, one day off. Three weeks on, two days off.... and that's still being too generous considering nobody wants to work anymore. I could care less if the shift is covered or not.
Then she gimme grief over a light being off in the shop where I sit. Might as well have painted a target on me on that one, she'll be back. Time to put that 2" pipe coupling back on the door knob as my early warning system.
I made one big mistake: "never show 'em everything ya got, they'll expect ya to keep it up for the duration". Now they're butthurt when I say NO, I want my berkeleying life back.
I need to get the berkeley outta here for my sanity. It's a sinkin' ship anyway.

I have found that employers who decided to go zero-tolerance on the rules don't like it when you decide to also enforce them back.
I smiled with glee after our GM told everyone there was zero approved overtime and nothing in the office ever warranted even a second of time over 40 hours. So when he'd some rolling up to my desk mid Friday afternoon with yet another "emergency" I would just smile and let him know that thanks to the previous four "emergencies" he had given me that week, my 40 hours was up at 2:00 pm. I'd then remind him that he himself declared nothing worthy of overtime. He'd hem and haw but I'd just do go clock out and go home. His solution was change our pay week from Monday-Friday to Friday-Thursday, thus removing the only perk of the job left (leaving early on Friday).
I'd make sure you start following all the rules REALLY closely, especially the ones that OSHA would like to see. Refuse to do work until you have all the proper safety equipment, a MSDS for all chemicals, and proper training.
And hell yes stop covering for everyone else.
Not as bad as the rest of this stuff but I just had drop down the worst meal of my life. At a fancy place in LV with decent reviews on yelp. Yeah I might have blasted them just a bit online and when they asked how the meal was I told them succinctly what it was like. One of the servers overheard and was like doing a little jig.
