I'm apparently a complete idiot... I messed up on an analysis run I did about 2 months ago that is the basis for what I've been doing for the last 2 months, and I can't show that mistake has a minimal impact on the results it's going to mean having to re-do the last 2 months' worth of work (and the other analyst working from the results will have to do the same, though he's only been working a few weeks) and completely blow both the schedule and the budget for this task.

I put a 2-pack and a 3-pack of little Midland LXT630VP3s in my Amazon cart yesterday. Electronically identical to our existing radios, but with a yellow faceplate instead of black. Perfect. $129.98 all in.
Got approval from the various board members to make the purchase yesterday evening.
Went to order them this morning and they've completely disappeared from Amazon like they never existed. Gone from the cart, gone from Amazon search results - not even marked 'out of stock' or anything; an actual 404 message like I hallucinated the page I left my browser sitting on overnight. No other place except Midland carries them in yellow, and they are notably more expensive than the black ones.
I ended up buying a 6-pack of the black ones for $149.99.
It's not a big deal, but WTF? Seriously, last night of all nights, this happened?
You said bad stuff about Bezos within earshot of Alexa, didn't you?
I feel much E36 M3tier than usual in the last few months. Maybe because I've missed and am set to miss a good number of events while preparing to move, and it isn't even saving me much money, plainly exposing to myself how I work for very little more than what's necessary to continue working. Maybe because the last 3 events I made it to ended with me calling a tow truck. Maybe because my only publicly visible career achievement is being dismantled due to vain board-level territory-marking at best, or corrupt self-serving at worst (looks very much like the latter to me but I like to give the benefit of the doubt). Reasons that nobody outside the company would ever believe if I were to commit the career faux pas of disclosing them rather than allowing the common-sense assumptions, which would appear to put me at fault, to stand. This comes just at the moment when I may have to look for a new job, if my transfer isn't granted. It's a stab in the back with a pre-salted blade right before I'll likely need to head into the salt mines.
Maybe it's because I seem to be sinking in the soupiest economic quicksand among anyone I know, simply because my pay is very stagnant and everything is getting more expensive around me, as it has been for the last decade. Most people I know manage to tread water or make slight headway, and a few soar about like Superman in total mockery of the laws of economic physics that seem to be affecting everyone else. The others who are sinking don't seem to be sinking as fast and hard as I am. I tried to tough it out for too long, I underestimated just how aristocratic the job market was in this old, small society because of my experience growing up in 1 decade that was different from all the others in its history. What I saw as a rough patch that may soon end was actually a return to normal.
The Dancer is at what will hopefully be her last appointment with her current OBG. Not only has the OBG been rather insulting at time toward the Dancer, she ordered the wrong bloodwork a few months back and took a while to realize it and order the right panels resulting in the Dancer being on something that was in reality making things worse rather than better for a month longer than if she'd not berked the bloodwork order up. Things get off on the wrong foot right off the bat as the office tells her that she has to pay a fee up front for the visit- something that she's never had to do before (we don't have a co-pay- they bill our insurance, insurance sends the bill back with what they allow to be charged and cover and then the office bills us for the rest since we've not hit our deductible yet). Nope, they need to mail us a bill- and the Dancer is going to press the OBG office to pay for the blood work that they mis-ordered because we should not have to pay for something that they berked up.
The Dancer tells me to cross my fingers that she behaves and is nice to the doctor because she's not feeling well and in a bad mood- I told her as long as she didn't kill the doctor that I'd bail her out for anything less (I'm in a pissy mood myself because of dealing with my screw-up at work).
I didn't realize until after I got home and opened the package that I bought Micro2 fuses instead of Mini. That's what I get for not paying attention.

I’m in between Detroit and Toledo for work. The Tigers have home games today and tomorrow, so I considered going. Then I figured I’d have as much fun with less hassle and expense if I went to a Toledo Mud Hens game instead. They are also playing at home this week, but instead of 7pm games, they play in the mornings. Who goes to a 10:30am weekday baseball game?

Really harbor freight? Closing at 8pm?
Apparently I have been permanently banned from a forum I really enjoyed (Different topics from GRM). I didn't see any warning message, and now I can't view it at all. I just get a screen informing me of the fact, and can't even send an email asking why.
I really have no ideal why that happened. I really try to behave online. No running feuds. And, no, it's not the kind of forum where they kick out the boring people.
Yeah, I'm more bummed than incensed.

Are they blocking you by IP? If they aren't, why don't you just get a sacrificial email address and sign up again with a fake name?
Drove the RX-7 on Tuesday.
Left knee still hurts on Thursday.

Not enough room in modern fuseboxes.
The hyper short ATM style fuses get me. It's hard to stick a loop of wire with terminals on the end for testing. Matco sells a tool to do that for $30...
I have entirely too much E36 M3 to do and nowhere near enough time or money to do it all with to be wasting this weekend going to Baltimore and being forced to be around thousands of people.
Im completely out of giveaE36 M3 for the week. And theres still two days left.
So I'm getting called in an extra night to finish up an order of wheel blanks we're behind on at work. But our vertical lathe we cut those on is down. And will probably still be down when I get there at 7:30 tonight. So I'm not entirely sure why they want me there. Oh well. More money I guess. I'll find something to do for 8 hours on a Thursday night.

Singin to the choir here. I think I reached that point on Tuesday.
Software routes a semi OFF an interstate. Instead of the shortest route?
And this isn't it's worst screw up.

The last weeks corporate meetings has fueled my general contempt for the human race.
We got a massively wrong estimated bill for a utility. I've figured out that they made an error on their worksheet in converting from english to metric units. I'm trying to get them to understand that, and it's like pounding my head against the wall. They just keep repeating numbers from the worksheet. That doesn't mean anything when THE WORKSHEET IS WRONG!!!!! I feel like the Verizon .002 cents guy. (see here for explanation https://consumerist.com/2010/02/23/verizon-didnt-know-difference-between-difference-between-002-and-00002/)
They should be paying me thousands of dollars for overbilling. Instead they're trying to bill me thousands of dollars. And I can't seem to get them to refer me to someone that understands the math. They just keep repeating incorrect numbers. I hate to be "that guy," but I think my next call is going to end up being to a lawyer. I'm just not making any headway. Anybody know a good utility lawyer in Ohio??

Ours switched to that some time ago. Home Depot & Lowes also started closing at 9 and not 10. Not as annoying as it used to be (read: I have bought way too many tools in the past...) but still frustrating.
