I took my daughter to see the new Mission Impossible, and I noticed something. I am a James Bond fan from way back, and one thing I love is the gadgets. I love when they flip out some little device and use it to crack the security code in a second or two. In Mission Impossible, the "device" used to crack the code was an iPhone. The spy camera? An iPad. I was like, "that's not futuristic, I have one of those right here!"
Thinking back to how amazing it was for Bond to have a moving-map navigation system and telephone in his DB5, I wonder how tough it will be to come up with cool gadgets in future movies? (there were still some cool gadgets in MI, including some realistic ones that were glitchy)

The first time I saw a commercial for the latest Mission Impossible, I thought they were trying to sell me a BMW. I'm pretty sure the movie was only made so they had a high profile venue for product placement.
