Mustang being raffled off for good cause!!

As mentioned in a previous topic, I hope this doesn't violate any terms or anything of the site. We have a really good family friend who is struck with cancer, she's a mother of 2 and very active with the local school and sports teams. We have had benefits, BBQ's, etc. raising money for the family. Some neighbors have decided to raffle off their beloved 1968 Mustang convertible. It's a 289 automatic car, and is in fantastic shape. Tickets are $100.00 each and there are only going to be 300 sold. Please PM me if you're interested and I'll get you taken care of. +1 for a good cause and a good looking car. I'm still catching up $$$ wise or else I would jump on one myself. A 1 in 300 chance is a pretty good set of odds.

I have never heard of a car being raffled off for a bad cause. That is one sweet looking ride. Hope the right person gets it.

I wish I could afford a ticket, that's an awesome car.

Let me spread the word to a few of my more affluent Mustang friends. Maybe I can sell a few tickets for you.

I noticed the Texas tags. Where in Texas are you located?

I am in the dead ass center of Texas in a little town called Zephyr just outside of Brownwood. Neither of which anyone knows of. LOL. I am 2 hrs north of Austin off 183, 1 hour east of Abilene, 2 hrs west of Ft. Worth, and 3-4 hrs west of Dallas proper. You do not need to be present to win, I don't think. I will verify.

Just talked to the powers that be for the raffle. Raffle will take place on July 4th and winners will be notified by phone if they cannot be present.

Damn, if I wasn't broke as berkeley, I'd be down. I wonder if a raffle ticket counts as a challenge purchase- I mean... it IS available to the public at the same price that anyone else has.

So people... what would you do with this car?

Personally, I'd probably return it a bit closer to original: grill, 15" wheels, de-chrome the engine bay, maybe add vintage air. Basically make it into a nice Sunday cruiser.

...well... at least for as long as I could before I had to sell it since I am completely out of garage space.

All day long. Probably eventually swap the 289 for a new 5.0 Coyote or a 351-W and put in a 6-speed. Suspension would be Total Control and IRS.

I got lucky ticket #283 in the mail today. Maybe this'll get your a few more sales.

Truthfully? Probably sell it back to the owners for cheap. I have no use for a droptop mustang.

LOL, they might appreciate that. But, they are raffling it off because it just sits in their shop and doesn't get driven.
