Compared to some of the stuff said on this forum, uh, yea, it was pretty mild. It had no swearing, nothing gross, nothing in poor taste, nobody keyboard humping the gal.

Edit: Oh, wait, I saw the thread in question. I understand this is a boy's place, and that many guys don't understand how pervasive and widely accepted attitudes objectifying women contribute to all kinds of weird self-image issues for females, so I just sighed and clicked it closed before I had to listen to any more of it.
I also understand that if the latest controversies in the gaming world are any indication, attempts to politely point out that girls are people, too, and deserving of our respect will provoke massive blowback. This is comparatively mild, so get it all out. But don't expect any sub-forums devoted to catching ladies in embarrassing moments.

Do you remember the article in GRM a few years back with the girls posing in the junkyard? I thought some of those poses were not appropriate for the magazine, and I'm a bit of a perve (or was). I got neutered.
Oh yeah, I remember. Weirdest thing about that? We wanted to do the shoot more in fun, but the models (one especially) worked mostly for biker magazines in town, and it was all we could do to keep her from getting to know some of the parts in a biblical manner.
Our next effort at that was the "Zero to Hero," with the trophy girl and confetti and such for our former zero, and I think it came out a lot better. (Fun fact: That model went on to become one of the suitcase-holding girls on "Deal or No Deal." Still no Shirley Temple Black, but she's got time.)

My wife and I were on the deck over the weekend enjoying a glass of wine. Suddenly, my wife made a dash for the powder room without realizing the sliding screen door was closed. The EXACT same thing could be said for guys in this day and age. Look no further than Hollywood. So unfortunately, I don't see your point. I think we'd all have a good laugh if a gal posted the exact same thread but it was a dude in a kilt, and we certainly wouldn't be telling her that she is objectifying men (spoiler alert: when you dress for attention you objectify yourself, good or bad, as is the very nature of trying to look good for the opposite sex).

And, if you're still railing against "the machine," here's a different explanation, adapted from JG: Hitler mustaches aren't obscene or wrong or illegal. But you can't have one. He ruined that for you. The same way "other people" have ruined creating a hostile environment for women on the internet. I'm very sorry, but you can't have that, either.

What sucked about that particular issue- it was the one that featured our Challenge car. So I bought a bunch to give out.

I'm not debating that there aren't some people in this world who are rude or creeps. And somebody commenting on a 15 year old falls under that.
But we're all big boys and girls. There are just as many women objectifying men as there are men objectifying women (what's that movie... magic mike? Yea, I'm sure that movie is all about the amazing dialogue and deep story). So, if I go out in my nice jeans, tasteful casual dress shirt, and in general look like a badass rockstar (in my dreams) and a woman comments on it in a sexual manner? You'd think that would be a good thing. And what would I expect? If I don't want any attention, I'll throw on the GRM shirt and my pair of $15 Costco jeans covered in oil.
But nope. Your argument (in my opinion) also loses validity about the comfortable clothing options. If you are wearing the short shorts that seem to be all the rage lately, what does one expect? There are plenty of other options out there for being cool (temperature). And again, if you desire to wear something that is skin tight to be "confident", that confidence is directly related by your desire to be attractive. Which there is nothing wrong with; but if someone comments on it, why be offended if that is what was desired in the first place? It's a silly stance to take, "I want to project myself as a desirable individual, but if you comment about it, you'll be sorry!". Its like Monty Python's "Don't mention the war!" skit.
Chick wore a dress and a thong in the video. Things happen, she could have worn granny panties and nobody would be the wiser. She literally wanted that attention, and got the attention she desired. Unfortunately for her, the mind-control police don't have access to our thoughts... yet 
If you want attention, then accept the attention you receive (positive AND negative attention). You could dress in a burka and people would still comment.
As for Tom, you went to Hitler AND gamergate. That's like two thread fouls right there

(My impression of how life has run- while it appears that women objectify men like men do to women, they don't. The best you will get in life, mostly, is your wife doing it to you.)

Nope, just having a conversation on this silly board. I have no need to justify anything I do with this board or the people on it. But I'll gladly share my thoughts and opinions on subjects we discuss.
As for your current situation in life, we all have different experiences. I am somewhat glad mine hasn't been like yours. It is cute though of you to try to pass off your thoughts/beliefs as fact while deriding mine at the same time.

According to the english language, you cannot objectify an object. It is already an object.
The forum is an extension of the GRM business. I don't begrudge the powers that be moderating it to their own standards. I happen to like that this forum is usually very family friendly and won't get blocked by my firewall at work so I can keep reading it on my lunchtime and breaks.
If I want to crawl into the soft white underbelly of the internet, that is very easy to do, sometimes unintentionally, even.
