This whole deal has gone on forever in all kinds of racing. The problem is that they don't do a good job or even really care if all the fans in the stands with a scanner hears them. Nascar doesn't want that out in the open, they already have been compared to professional wrestling. Besides the fact that tv cameras are everywhere and a lot of times you can see the drivers hands on the wheel. How many times have you seen replays of someone purposely turning into another car? Image is everything;)

I was wondering if instead of having only the top ten or so many make the chase and the rest get nothing that they should use the first 20 something races and then reset the point with 5 point intervals between everyone and then go from there for the last 10 races. Thus in or out of the chase would be a lot less of an issue. Use the first 2/3 of the season as a qualifying and then reset the field and start racing again.

Regarding Gordon. I don't think that they ever were giving up and just coasting. I am sure that there are a lot of other things that were goig on there that we don't know about. If you have a car that can pass the next guy but to do it you use up your tires and end up in the wall or you then get passed by two people is where experience and strategy comes in. If it matters I have been a crewchief and raced 4,6 and 12 hour races and there are many times that you have to tell your driver to cool it and look at the big picture instead of just the next car. I think Kyle is a phenomenal driver that has mastered giving it his all and the equipment's all with out over doing it. Gordon may be a bit more conservative. Maybe it is his crew chief being more conservative. Who knows. All I do know is that all the race car drivers I have met that are competing at that level are extremely competitive and will never lay down or coast unless there they thought or there team thought that it would benefit them.

I'm not going to watch anymore Cup prerace shows until they promise to shut the berkeley up about "integrity" and "fairness". I'd put Truex back in, and tell the whiners to get more teammates if they need them.

Its all bullE36 M3.

Sponsor NAPA dumps Michael Waltrip Racing after Richmond controversy

As a result of the controversial incident and the penalties levied against the organization, sponsor NAPA is pulling the plug on its multi-million dollar sponsorship of MWR’s No. 56 team.

maybe NAPA will move their funding over to a team that never ever cheats and always wins honestly- i'm sure there's room for a NAPA logo on the 48...

Jr. may not win a lot, but he is for some reason the most popular driver in Nascar. That is worth a lot to a sponsor.

That's enough of a reason to sponser him though. I think it would be a good move for NAPA to do so if they have the chance.

I am not really a fan of his mostly because of who his fans are. I don't want to be associated with the dumb redneck part of NASCAR. Same reason I really don't care for Harvick. I am sure Jr would be a cool guy to hang out with but his cookie cutter fans annoy the E36 M3 out of me.

so you don't like someone because of some of the other people that like that person?

are you in the third grade?

In reply to novaderrik:

Yes to your first question, but that is not the whole reason. I really don't think he is the best or even the second best Hendrick driver. Even when they play the reorganize the house game for his benefit he still gets shown up by Kasey Kahne who I consider to be the 4th driver for Hendrick. I will give him this, he has driven better and more consistant this year but if it wasn't for his dad's name, he'd be back in Nationwide.

Call it third grade if you want, but I want nothing to do with Jr fans. Including liking a mediocre driver in the best equipment. Going to races and watching streams hearing "junior nation" chanting things "put Busch into the wall" or "anybody but the Busch brothers" really makes me want to distance myself from even supporting the driver. Let's not forget the hypocrisy of hating those two for driving hard and occasionally wrecking people while keeping their dear #3 on a pedestal.

I have no problem disliking something based on the people that follow it(see also: college football, F1, and stance culture). Probably more hipster than third grade. Not really sure that is better though.
