As far as the dogfighting... dude has done his time and then some. Time to move on from hating him for that. Guy got a second chance and I think he does regret what he did, not that he just got caught. He is not near the thug as some players out there in the league.
Actually no. He did exactly zero time for dogfighting. He did 18 months on gambling charges. The minimum sentencing guidelines for the acts of animal abuse to which he has admitted is 68 years. When he does that time I'll move on. Until then he's just a sociopath with handlers good enough to game the system who got a pass because he can throw a ball. No respect and no forgiveness earned.
Vick wasn't explosive in Denver. He was just really well protected so he had all the time in the world. Even then, he couldn't always find a target so he'd start running - and nobody was near enough to stop him. Denver couldn't seem to get through to him in the first half.
But things changed in the second half, and all of a sudden he started to look rattled. One of the Broncos made a point have a little chat with Vick after chasing him halfway across the field, and then did it again the next play. And again. Got into his head. Then came two consecutive sacks and a third almost-sack on the next play. The wheels just came off. And I haven't cheered that hard to see a QB go down for some time.
I dunno what Denver does in the locker room at halftime, but it sure works.
One problem with Manning - there's no reason to stay until the end of the game. With Tebow as QB, you didn't dare leave early. He won more playoff games for Denver than Manning has, too...
Hide your beagle. Vicks an eagle.

We'll that's how plea bargains work. Unfortunantly PETA people are unwilling to accept that.
Btw, it was more than just gambling charges and according to the plea, he had knowledge of the executions, not commiting them.
Anywho, I'm back to football. I'm done with the PETA crap in a NFL thread. Message me if you are so concerned with changing my mind.

I thought his nose qualified as a crash energy dissipation device all on its own.

Well I'll be damned... The Giants stink worse than the Eagles...
Wow did the patriots really lose. That was pathetic.

Watched some of the hi-lites... wow... that looked like an ugly game...
How bad is the NFC East so far? With a 2-3 record, the Eagles are tied with Dallas for 1st in the division.
ya know, of all the teams that I though might put up a fight against the Broncos, Dallas was not one of them. That was bonkers. Can't comprehend the hate on Romo, though; the game was basically entirely on his shoulders since the Dallas D couldn't stop Peyton (although they did get a pick). He through for 500 yds, FIVE scores, and one pick. The pick just came at the worst possible time.

Yep. He went from hero to zero with that one play. Otherwise I agree - 500+ yards of passing is astounding... but if it doesn't result in a W...
Yeah, but I don't understand how they can pin the loss on him, when they wouldn't have been in any position to win in the first place if he hadn't taken the whole team on his shoulders.
That was a fun quarterback battle for sure. Lots of big throws from Romo that the Broncos just couldn't stop. Denver's got to learn how to get some pressure on opposing quarterbacks. It's no coincidence that the pick came right after a sack.
This is the first time I have to say that I actually do feel sorry for Romo. He played lights out, but the focus will be on the one throw that wasn't good. Can't blame the guy for the loss. I know Denvers' offense is probably going to smash all kinds of records, but even if Dallas' defense could have held them to 45 points, they'd have won.
Here in Philly, we'll get to listen to the Vick/Foles debate all week. There isn't enough of a sample on Foles yet, but I don't think either are good enough to take the Eagles far. Not to mention they still have a lot of other holes to fill.
For me, I like to see the Eagles win, but I jumped on the 49ers bandwagon in the late 70's and have stayed on it. So glad to see Seattle go down yesterday.
At least I'm not a Jaguars fan...if there is such a thing...
Yeah, Romo gets a lot of misdirected hate IMO. 45+ points are more than enough to win a game.
Kinda shocked at the Pats falling. Shocked the Giants are doing so bad. Not near as shocked as seeing the Packers with a losing record.
Oh and a big berkeley you to Schaub. He directly cost me loss in both my leagues. Get yer E36 M3 together man. WTF is going on. I am hearing some of it is on Kubiak calling the same plays over and over again but there are passes thrown that shouldn't be. Christ man, 4 pick sixes in 4 weeks.
Saints and KC 5-0... No shock.
Love hearing the ATL "Fans" boo "their team." Enjoy all the empty seats in your new stadium after a losing season.
