I spent quite a bit of time today trying to post an ad on CraigsList. I never got a chance to post it, however, because
A.) I'm stupider than my / any / all computers, and
B.) I can't hear sounds emitted by the digital equivalent of bats.
I wanted to post an ad in "strictly platonic" and APPARENTLY that requires you to spend the afternoon proving you aren't ....I'm not sure what. Heec, it says STRICTLY PLATONIC....what am I missing here? When it came time for the phone call verification, the voice I heard sounded like it had a throat full of phlegm so I (apparently?) got the first or several numbers in the verification code wrong. Subsequent ATTEMPTS to re-verify have gone nowhere. I DO get a (Windows?) security warning that I may or may not get to see the full webpage because of a lack of an appropriate HTTPS connection. At that point, hitting pretty much any choice on the block of the warning sign throws my computer into a "hissy fit" as it then stops doing anything and I never get a re-call with a new verification code from CL.
Sorry, this is sort of a rant, but again, I'm not SMART enough to figure out how to rant on CL's own "in house" BB.
Why do folks who set up many/most websites think the rest of us are GEEKS, too?
