Chicken head found in Happy Meal

I think this is a scam--what fry jockey doesn't notice THAT size nugget going into the grease? And she didn't even try to eat it, whereas I would've at least nibbled off the good pieces of fry before demanding my $100M. (C'mon, admit it, that comb looks tastee.)

Some info on that photo here: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/friedrat.asp As of their last report back in 2000, the case was still pending. Don't know if anything has happened since then.

That's amazing. I didn't even realize they put chicken in those things.

Ha. I thought I'd seen that chicken head before, but a quick search of Snopes for "Happy Meal Chicken Head" turned up nothing. (Their search function is always hit and miss.) Anyway, it's making its rounds again today.

We should resurrect our own old rumor and spread it around. How about that classic about Richard Gere? Kids today have never even heard it... of course, they wouldn't care, either.

Totally agree on the scam prospect.

But c'mon, do you really think the average McD fry-jock has even seen a chicken with its head intact?

I'll wager the kids would care enough to try it - and then let it go viral.

In a sense, they don't. Which is why i don't find this claim to be all that possible.

If anybody wants to tell me how a whole chicken head made it through that process, i'm all ears.

Also interesting... what exactly is she suing for if she didn't even try to eat it? She didn't try to eat it, so she didn't get the beak stuck in her throat, sooo.... NO DAMAGES am i right?

Exactly. Nuggets are essentially injection molded chicken goo, so how the hell did a head get through that? And I agree, no damages, no money. If you're not satisfied with your meal, complain and hope for a refund. If you don't want the refund, eat your berkeleying chicken head and shut the hell up.

We could substitute Justin Beber for Richard Gere and see if that revives it...

According to Snopes, it was found in a box of chicken wings instead of McNuggets. They aren't a regular McDonalds' item but were being test marketed. Perhaps this is why they didn't pass the test.

Snopes covered mechanically separated chicken, too:

http://www.snopes.com/food/prepare/msm.asp

Still moderately gross, but at least no ammonia used to make it...

I was just in Kuala Lumpur for the weekend. Deep fried chicken heads can be had everywhere from street grub vendors. I'm not really sure which bits of it you're supposed to eat though. Please tell me it isn't the EYES.

She pressed charges and demanded 100,000 dollars. I didn't even know that it was against the law to accidentally or intentionally serve a chicken's head to someone. Was this woman traumatized? Please. How is the chicken's head any more or any less gross than anything else they serve at that restaurant.

Pressing charges for food poisoning? That's legitimate, but if she didn't get physically hurt from this encounter, then I suggest this woman go shove something else down her throat and I hope she chokes on it.
