I have insider knowledge as to VCHs current profession and have a few guesses. I'll keep them to myself for now.
Industrial application. Turbodiesel, about 170 litre displacement. Threw that rod under load, luckily the oil pressure monitor killed the injectors and shut the engine down. We collected 3 huge boxes of metal shards and debris that I'm sorting through.
BTW- each of those rods is about the size of your arm, and weighs about 50 pounds. That metal bench that goes around the side of the engine- see how it's bent? It used to be straight. Rod went straight out the porthole and bent that bench like that.
