Behold the beauty of the Rectrans Discoverer Motorhome.  Built on the known reliability of the late-70's Dodge van platform, their beauty is eclipsed only by their awesomeness, as witnessed below.

Rectrans??  Damn near killed them!

(I know what this had to be before I even opened the thread)

Perfect start to your own Slither sequel, BTW.

Looks like it should be hauling Lectroids.

Larry co-founded Rectrans with Bunkie Knudsen...its design wasn't their finest hour.

Not gonna lie, I like it. Reminds me of the Robert Q. Riley Phoenix van.

The most deranged feature is that they had an option for dumping the blackwater tank into the exhaust and boiling it off. I'd hate to imagine what that smelled like!

Do you remember the Dodge wide ambulance of the same era?

I read your comment and was about to say The Phenomenauts had one as a tour vehicle, but theirs was later, and more nicely done. Had a seam in the middle of the windshield because it seemed to have about 5/8 of a left windshield, and 5/8 of a right... And its wheels came closer to filling out the body. A quick google says it was a Dodge Wide One.

Detroit?

cheeky (I would say El Segundo, but that's a bit too local)

Also, that is what is known as:  Someone else's problem.

Clearly you use when driving down the interstate.  Might be useful for tailgaters.
