Checking in on Donebrokeit (Paul B). Last we heard he was sick in the hospital but hasn't been seen since.

Dude's been a regular here for a decade, hopefully someone knows him in real life and that he's okay.
I don't but I'd like to keep this at the top, wishing him full recovery and hoping he's just on a break.
Capt. Downshift mentioned in the other thread that he might be able to check with some contacts at the hospital. Fingers crossed.
just found the original thread and now I get it. If he's hooked to a ventilator then I doubt he can respond or even see this.
He said what hospital he was it. Do we know a last name?
I don't see Paul B in the FB group either. With a last name we might be able to get a phone call into the hospital.
Captaindownshift just posted his last name in the other thread. It didn't take a lot of google fu to come up with a likely home address/ email / land line and cell. Let's hope he's OK and will chime in on his own soon.
I'm also concerned about UltraClyde, he was a frequent poster that I haven't seen anything from in months. The last I remember was a trip he did to go pick up a boat he'd bought.
I am texting with Hannah Berdych, who came up as a "possible relative", and it seems he's alive though quite bad. I apologize as I dove in a bit farther than many of you seem to be advising

Having a suspicion of the situation, getting confirmation regarding it voluntarily from a relative is not out of line. If anything he will have more of an issue with me posting his last name publicly, to which I will respond, but I understand him wishing that I had not done so, but there was merit reason being that people have significant concern for him and his well being and that I accept all responsibility and potential anger and hostility that he may have towards me for having done so, and that I would do it again. And that for better or worse I also have a lot of additional information that I didn't and wouldn't post, I could probably get that health insurance in his name though.

I appreciate you and your efforts. I accept the same. We're doing this is good faith, and nothing to harm anyone.

That is unfortunate news.
This does not sound good. I'll continue to pray for him and hope for a positive outcome. It is all that we can do over the internet.

Only posted in 2 spots... At this point I would say that the name can be redacted.

Hoping for better news to come

Now that we have an update on him, you can delete or edit your post. Thank you though!
This thread has the morbid part of me thinking of updating various threads with concrete goals in order to make sure they are passed on properly in the event of the worst.
I suppose that's part of the purpose of a will.

That's terrible news.
Hannah touched base with me again as I left work, she's going to try and make a screen name here but I'm sure she has a lot on her mind. She said definitively that he was non-responsive, I urge all of you to pray for his recovery. Right now it doesn't look good.
I'm near tears over here about a guy I've never met in real life.
Let me indulge myself a moment as a Christian. Every life in precious and every person is an image bearer. I knew intellectually that covid deaths were still happening, but try as I might, I can't fully escape the numbness associated with Joseph Stalin and "one death is a tragedy and a million deaths is a statistic" or whatever. I'm paraphrasing, but Stalin was a terrible human being so it's okay if I butcher it. Anyway, Paul is a real man with real family and he is really loved. Internet friend or not, this man is real and important and precious.
Tonight during family worship we talked about the school shooting and the SUV killing and how tragic it is that some people don't recognize how precious life is. I told my kids to never lose the innocence that allows them to be sad and feel these losses. I spoke briefly about this situation, and they are all praying as well.
I'm still feeling this. I hope you are as well.
You'll need to log in to post.
