If the pilot could've kept the wings level, he probably would have cleared it. And made things much easier for the yellow minivan.

BTW, not sure the wing dip was intentional. Given the attitude of the plane and the lack of airspeed, I suspect it was an uncontrolled stall.
^That's certainly possible. The plane was probably either overloaded or had engine trouble, it crashed soon after takeoff.
Edit: My thoughts are that the rolling was either a symptom of a stall, or he tried to turn away from the bridge a bit while barely above stall speed and caused a stall.
I've flown in and out of that airport many times in the past. There are two airports in Taipei, the international airport which is outside of town and this one, which is right downtown. Landings and departures are pretty steep, there's a mountain they have to clear to get in and out of the airport.
Apparently the pilot radioed "flameout" just before the crash. The wing dip could have been caused by asymmetric thrust with only one working engine.
Can't speak to that type, but on some airplanes, one wing stalls before the other, which would also cause roll.
Imagine you're the taxi driver trying to make an insurance claim without the dash cam footage from the other car.

Lucky it didn't go down into the buildings and instead the bridge/river.....at least that allowed some to survive.

The taxi driver is glad to be imagining anything after that. A couple more feet and that was it for him.
Insane footage and still shots out of that.
Plane was clearly in a pretty deep stall when it cleared the buildings. The wing dip was either engine out (asymmetrical thrust), or maneuvering (trying to avoid the buildings) before, or during the stall.
The plane should still be able to complete a takeoff with an engine out (that should be a design requirement). I suspect the need to clear those buildings and/or the engine flaming out at the exact wrong moment where major factors here.
Other then a flame out, I would suspect misloading (out of balance). It's not terribly hard to do in the smaller commuter planes.

I am a big guy (north of 300lbs) and I have been asked to move on Dash-8 flights to help with load balance. Apparently it is very easy to screw up loading on smaller turboprops.
Yeah, there are various reports of the pilot calling a flameout. I'm sory for the victims, but glad that there are survivors. The cab driver is hospitalized in stable condition with a head injury.
This is the worst footage I have seen since that load-shifted 747 in Pakistan / Afghanistan / wherever a few years ago. That thing was clearly trying desperately to stay flying, and it just wasn't gonna happen.
Tragic event that's getting exploited by the clown crew at CNN.
The hosts insist on suggesting the pilot was attempting to reach the river and pull a Sullenberger. As if that was remotely possible. Hey, Wolf, et al, if your knowledge of flying is akin to your knowledge of all the other things you bombard us with, it's no wonder trust in media has tanked.
Please. Stop. Now. Don't emulate Congress...

This. I refuse to follow even non-mainstream media anymore. Hell, the Weather Channel jumped the shark a long time ago too. I just get my forecasts from the NWS site now, that way I can at least get non-sensationalistic weather.
Oh damn.
