Seth Green is a marketing genius. In one fell swoop, he is pushing his new DVD, promoting the flat track roller derby leagues all over the US, reviving some of the skating rinks, giving geeks a place to dress up like Stars Wars characters and getting paid to follow Gym Class Heros around and skate with his buddies. This is like a sextuple win.
Did the one in Denver with the missus (buy the DVD for the pass, and still get there 2 hours early) The whole lot of them were out there skating with the rest of us. All of them made a piont to have pictures taken, sign autographs and be availible to their fans. Seth seemed to go out of his way to befreind the little kids, the derby girls were in full regalia and having fun. We had the 501st Imperial regiment dressed in a 1/2 dozen storm trooper variations as well as a fully fuctional R2 and R5 unit.
Just a whole pack of geeks being geeks without judgment, and if you haven't been skating in a while, its a great exercise.
I know I'm not the only roller derby fan, definetly not the only Robot Chicken fan, in the minor leagues of Star Wars geekdom, and can't be the only guy who wasted his early teens every Saturday and the local skating rink.
