Yes, Portland.
The Lobster Shack at Two Lights wasn't open yet (seasonal), so we went to the Porthole in the Old Port.
Beautiful day and we sat outside by the water.
I'll be up there for a week once I'm done with my semester in May. It's the trip we planned for spring break 2020, but, well, we all know how that turned out....

I haven't been to Old Port since the early 90's. Wicked cool spot at the time.

OMG, I thought it might be the Porthole. That's seriously one of the best places for lunch in Portland. Last time up to Portland I purposely scheduled my site visit so I could grab lunch there, always fresh and such a cool old place right on the water.

Or, keep a small oxy-acetylene kit in the trunk.
Every picture I've seen of a lobster roll had mayo on it. I hate condiments with a passion. Now I find out they can be made with butter. I want a berkeleying lobster roll for lunch. If I leave right now I can have a real Maine lobster roll in like 50 hours. Oh well.
Apparently there are places nearby to get one. I'll have to ask my local friends from Maine where to get an authentic one.
It's a bit of a hike from Gilroy, but Woody is lucky enough to have a Stew Leonard's in his neck of the woods. When we visit our son, my wife heads to Stew's and brings back lunch. OK, OK, it's not Maine, but they put out a very good lobster roll (no mayo). I'm afraid I could live right in Stew's parking lot.

I can ship...or just order from Taylor's Lobster in Kittery, Maine.
I buy a 2lb. bag of tail and claw meat when I stop there on my way home from work. Lobster rolls and I make a killer lobster alfredo from it. Already cooked so no stink in the house.
When I was a kid we stayed with family friends in Maine - he was a lobsterman. We would go out on the boat with him and he would pull traps, collect the lobsters, and bring them back home, then straight into the pot. Probably the freshest lobster possible, and I still wasn't crazy about it.
I wish I liked it more than I do. Watching them die in the pot might have something to do with it. That, and seeing what happens to the non-lobster things that end up in the traps (they become bait, quickly and violently) might have left some scars.
My son spent 2 years in Boston and I'd tell him when coming home to shoot by the docks and buy sone lobsters and put them in your luggage. He said no.
Me traveling through the Boston airport sees that the Legal Sea Foods restaurant inside will sell you live lobster to carry home. What the heck?
Okay, a few things about lobster rolls...
I was offered a choice of mayo, drawn butter or aioli. I went with the butter.
According to Downeast magazine, Maine lobster rolls are served cold. If you're expecting a warm lobster roll, that's called "Connecticut Style". I'm okay with either one.

Given all the choices, I prefer twin lobster tails. More (and better) lobster without all the mess and most of the work of a whole lobster.
Stew Leonard's lobster rolls are okay, but I prefer getting the 4 oz. frozen tails when they go on sale. Get two per person.
Fun fact:
You can get live lobsters at the rest areas on the Maine Turnpike.
It's the perfect complement to the free orange juice you get when you drive into Florida.
