I saw a random you tube videos of these and may try to make one out of some scrap I have.  
 

My question is on the best  layout as far as the length of each arm. 
 

Should A (the chimney) be longest? Is longer better? 
 

Should B (the feed tube) be shorter than A but longer than C? 
 

Does the length of C even matter? 
 

 


 

Also would it work to make this type of set up to help feed air to a larger campfire on top?  I will try to find a picture of what I am thinking of on this.

This is what I meant by putting a campfire on top:

 

the thought is it would supply better airflow for the campfire? 
 

Then just have a screen to keep the bigger chunks of Burnt wood out of the air inlet tubes.
