Well that will never need to happen to me because I don't smoke boat, lead cops on a high speed city chase and try to fight them then keep trying to get up when they tell me to stay down.

+1 on that.

I worked with several APD officers when I worked at a night club. They used to tell me the stories of people running. Never run into the woods they said because there is no cameras and they would try to put a "Grady cap" on you. Grady was in reference to Grady Hospital and the cap was in reference to the bandaging around your head. I am not saying cops beating your ass is right but when you run from them or disobey orders from a cop when being detained, I really don't give a E36 M3 if you get beat on.

With that said, getting pulled over for no damn reason and getting harassed is some bullE36 M3. That, to me, is more wrong than cops beating a guy's ass that is not listening or being disobedient. One deserves what they are getting, the other doesn't.

Rodney King sure seemed like a jackass, at least according to his rap sheet. However, we live in a nation were the citizenry have rights and everyone lives under the rule of law, including those charged with maintaining ordered society. Those officers exceeded the limits of lawful enforcement and deserved their punishments.

People need to understand that running from the police leads to big boy problems, but it shouldn't give the police free reign to mette out corporal punishment.

I've been stopped by eight cops who were looking for someone on a bike who went by two cops sitting at a gas station. He was doing about 100mph on his rear wheel at the time.

They stopped me and my two friends with guns out of the holsters (not aimed) and nightsticks out. I already had the bike off and the kickstand down before the one that stopped by me got out of his car. They were screaming at us about where our buddy was, and they didn't like our answer of 'Who?'. Don't ever under-estimate the mob mentallity of cops.

In case you haven't been paying attention.

We now live in a nation where the criminals have MORE rights than the citizenry.

Sorry, when you get a rap sheet with more than 3 items, you should lose your rights, period.

They had a couple incidents up here in Canada this month.

One was an old guy at a campsite reporting a drunk driver. 6 of the drivers friends beat the E36 M3 out of a 60+ year old. The cops arrested four of them and told the old man he should go home.

The second was a shop keeper who had been robbed 4 times in 4 years. He bearsrpayed the fourth guy, spanked him and called the cops. The police told the shop keeper he was lucky that he wasn't being charged.

Sorry, that's backwards thinking.

They just showed a clip on the news break from that video. The one where he's lying face down on the ground with them in a circle around him and the big cop takes two good swings on him. He was FAR from resisting...

Ok. The day I smoke boat, lead cops on a high speed city chase and try to fight them then keep trying to get up when they tell me to stay down I fully expect and accept their vicious beat down because I was being a tool.

Silly me, I always thought you were innocent until proven guilty.

The police are not judge, jury or executioner. There was no reason to beat King if he was resisting arrest. The cops are allowed to use deadly force if they are threatened.

yeah because the media never did any selective editing and the press only shows the truth right.

Dude, get over it, King was a drug addicted criminal and he resisted just enough for the cops to kick his criminal ass, they got caught on take and a new age is born.

The UK has it real bad. There have been plenty of reports of shop owners getting hemmed up and the people robbing them getting off red handed. They literally do not have the right to protect their businesses from criminals.

So they should have shot him? He was a threat. Thats what people high on PCP who attack cops after leading them on a high speed chase are, threats.

re above ^(Tongue firmly in cheek) These are the words of a veteran cop who has dealt with PCP addicts regularly.

You have no idea of the effects of the E36 M3.

You weren't there, so lay of the BS.

I have seen PCP addicts shot 12 times and never even miss a step.

You give that berkeleyer a chance, I however WILL shoot his ass.

Some people have trouble understanding...

They went WELL BEYOND what it took to subdue him. There were two or three cops that I remember still wailing on him after he was lying face down on the ground. There weren't any of the other cops pinning him down at that point, so it's probably a good bet they have him cuffed at that point. The big cop took two more swings on him at this point of the five sec. clip they showed.

I do not dispute any of the other stuff happening, and I'm CERTAINLY not saying cops should just turn the other cheek, but they wailed on him well after they had him subdued.

To sum up... even if you are a worthless E36 M3bag... cops cannot beat you to death's door because you have annoyed them anymore than I can smash a stupid looking douche-nozzle's head in for pissing me off. That is what we call aggravated assault here in the good 'ol USA. The last motherberkeleyers on the planet who should get away with breaking laws are those sworn to uphold the law.

Cops should act like they've done this E36 M3 before and have some professionalism.

I understand just fine that King was the scum of the earth and violently resisted arrest and endangered lives with a high speed chase though the city. They beat him until they were sure he was no longer a threat with a few extra for good measure. And he deserved every last one of those swings.

His passenger didn't get beat down because he wasn't douche that attacked cops. Thats what happens when you attack cops, you get the every loving E36 M3 beat out of you.
