Our beautiful daughter, Elise:
Born 3/7/14 at 8lbs, and 21" long. Yes, I know Elise is a car name, No that's not why we picked it, and yes i'm totally going to use this as an excuse to keep an eye on lotus prices, lest they become cheap enough to justify buying one.
I've never been more impressed with my wife than I am now after everything that happened. Seriously, she's amazing. I'm sure many of you with children know exactly what I mean.
In that picture, Elise is engaging in her current favorite activity- scrunching her face slightly while sleeping just prior to a massive and surprisingly audible diaper filling event.
Congrats! Get used to the diapers!

Congratulations to all parties concerned! Enjoy her. Even when parenting sucks, remember to enjoy your kid.

I'd like to do the same thing at a business meeting, excuse myself from the meeting, and then return wearing a completely different outfit.
Congratulations to you and your wife!

Thanks everybody! She sure is cute (both baby and wife!).
At toys R us today I saw this:
Yes, that is a drive-able electric mario kart! Why didn't they have stuff like that when I was a kid?! I guess I shouldn't complain, I had a sweet powerwheels jeep that my dad modified so it could do donuts. I was certainly not deprived.
There goes your sleep. Congratulations!
The very best to you and your family. Well done!
Congrats! Those days go by quickly, do everything you can to be there. It is a wonderful blessing to have those happy, healthy, and beautiful women in your life.

I have learned new things!
1- Smiling babies are cute on a level that is unmatched in the animal kingdom.
2- Fussing has multiple meanings. Hungry fussing is easily identified, as she appears to be chewing her hand off. The other kinds of fussing can mean she's too hot/cold, uncomfortable shirt, dirty diaper, or (my favorite) insane back pressure is building and about to be released into what used to be a clean diaper, and I haven't figured out how to distinguish beyond checking the diaper, feeling if she's hot/cold, checking to make sure clothing isn't all bunched up, whatever.
3- babies LOVE eating. They do it all the freakin' time, and I am jealous. For multiple reasons.
4- Sleeping is difficult, but not how I expected. I expected crying at night, not cute squeaking occasionally. Here's the dillema- noises while she's sleeping make me think "Is something wrong? is she waking up? is she hungry? need a diaper change?", but silence makes me think "Is something wrong? is she still breathing? is she waking up?"
5- I like making lists recently.
They start quiet, to break you in and lull you into a false sense of serenity. It'll get louder.
"No, they're for the baby". More frustrating word have never been uttered.
Enjoy the cloud nine. It's a magical experience.
When you feel like paying a wicked price, cry like your daughter. The milk will drip, and she'll punch you harder than you ever thought possible. You'll be in the dog house, but it's so funny!
Best wishes and congrats!

Love it - keep sleeping when you can, and make sure Momma can do the same.
Awesome! Congratulations. Your wife looks so calm and well rested for having a new baby.
Hey. I haven't been keeping up. Congrats!
