I switched to the wranglers that have some stretch. They seem to hold up really well and the are comfortable, they have 7 loops. I got them at Target.
I also just bought a pair of Dickies overalls. They don't really fit the business casual scene but I bought them for garage work. Super comfortable and seem to be built like a brick house.

Wrangler "Blues" from Menards have a washed look, 7 loops, no stretch and are often available for $25.   For my "dressy" jeans I wear Wrangler "Comfort Fit" stretch jeans. Dark blue, 7 loops, available at Meijers, go on sale for as little as $20.

And for casual, not work, and colours other than blue, I buy Blue Mountain carpenter pants from TSC. Usually $14-18. As you can see, I'm a cheap bastard.

I'm wearing 7 loop Levi's right now.  Bought less than a month ago.

Five loops? Seven loops?

Also, if I want long-wearing jeans, I grab my Wrangler's.  Real ones, with the leather logo on the right butt pocket.

What model and from where? I know larger companies like Target and Walmart have "similar" products made for them at a lower price point than other vendors get. Perhaps I have been buying at the wrong places. Kohls, JC Penney...ect

I was just disposing of my huge collection of torn jeans last weekend and it was an interesting archaeological excursion. The most faded and worn before they finally gave up were 7 loop 550 and 505 Levis. then the darker color, less used 550 and 505 Levis were unearthed which all had 5 belt loops, and then came the jeans labeled 505 and 550 that were flex fit. Those lasted me less than two months on average.

Nope. I just counted on the pair that I'm wearing.

Show me the ones I can buy today... There are a few online that have 6 loops, but most of them are 5.

Sidenote: most of their jeans seem to be lined, which really annoys me.

Are you asking me to send you a photo of my pants?

I think the ones I buy are "Classic Fit".  Go into one of their stores. There are piles of them.

Your side note is not accurate. They sell lined jeans, but they have more options that are unlined. I think they have five versions of unlined jeans.

I was a dedicated Levi's guy for 30 years, until the quality went to E36 M3. I've been buying my jeans from Leon Leonwood exclusively ever since.

Maybe when you get to be a fat guy (38?), they reward you with more belt loops.

Bonus: L.L. Bean jeans last forever.

Can't help on the 7 loop issue (but I share your pain with 5 loop) but don't discount the stretch. I've had these Levis stretch jeans as my "work pants" for general car work for a while now and they are holding up just fine. No holes. OTOH, my Levis with no stretch have massive holes in them from my wallet, knife, chapstick, and phone rubbing.

Stretch jeans are also much more comfortable than just denim.

Seconding Woody on the LL Bean Classic fit jeans and yes, I just counted my 7 loops.   They fit my fat Irish butt, come in the shorter in seam lengths that go with said butt and wear well.  Bonus, they’re wide enough at the cuff to fit well over most boots.

I just re-reconfirmed: L.L. Bean Classic Fit jeans, both lined and unlined, Size 38 have seven loops.

Side note: I have six or seven pair of lighter ones (stone washed?) for daily wear and dress up. I buy the Dark Indigo ones for garage use and lawn care. That way, you don't find yourself at a fancy Blue Tie event with oil and grease stains on your pants.

Probably.

I generally go with 505s, and I got these from JC Penney.  I'll dig through the hamper and see what these were.
I am a Hungry Man who eats Hungry Man meals (no I don't) but maybe the waist size has something to do with it.

I've been wearing Wranglers for years in concrete and they have 7 loops.

Also they seem to not have the whole Flat front cut that most jeans seem to use nowdays.

So, suspenders?  I'm a no ass white man.  I need something to hold my britches up, and paste is uncomfortable.

I wish suspenders (or overalls) were considered normal apparel for 30 year old suburban dads. I'd be wearing them all the time, but I don't think my wife would be very happy with that.

Because we haven't yet embraced the future where we get to all wear the same thing :(  Scrubs for office workers.

I wear jeans tot he office every day, but our dress code is fairly lax.  Working with LE means t shirts and lots of cargo pants and jeans.

Looks like they've changed. And the reviews seem to have a lot of people breaking the belt loops.

The Wrangler cargo pants I wear have 9 loops. Might be due to the waist size. I'm rather large around the middle.

Suspenders for the win though. I started wearing them daily several years ago. If I'm wearing long pants, I'm wearing suspenders. I do still wear a belt to hold my phone, knife, and flashligh. Loosening the belt and wearing suspenders took care of 95% of my heartburn/ acid reflux problem, no drugs required. The comfort level is high enough that I don't really care if they are socially acceptable or not. I even have a few dressy sets that I can wear with a suit or tux.

Don't buy the elastic suspenders, they suck. Also, don't buy the ones with the alligator clips, they bend easily and won't hold. Get the ones with the loop clips. I have a couple of really good leather sets that are awesome.

I usually wear these. Linky from the devil retailer. You can also find them at western stores.
