They've had true drones for quite a while. Ryan FireBees did a hell of a job in Nam flying over some of the nastiest parts up north. Completely autonomous.

Since I've been widely denounced for suggesting a non violet methods of dealing with drones let's counter the above with this https://www.youtube.com/embed/RxBa5bQfTGc

Nope, not autonomous. RC plane like 99.9%

There is an upside to this drone thing. The ancient sport of Falconry might stage a comeback.

Watch the Good Wife too? Come on, admit it, you like it too!

Fair enough. D-21s were totally autonomous. Ultimately unsuccessful, but autonomous.

I've been know to create an automatic air powered BB gun or two. Might be a new business opportunity for defense against those pesky drones.

Also not autonomous, but epic-ly cooler than it's predecessor for nothing more than it's launch vehicles. Autonomous is more than just aiming for a target (go to this GPS coordinate and back to this one). It is manipulating data and coming to a solution based on a undetermined amount of variables. (Land on Aircraft carrier, ok where is the aircraft carrier, do I fit, how fast is it going, are the seas steady, ect ect ect.) Think Hal, not cruise control.) If torpedos were truely autonomous you couldn't loose them with counter measures and them lock onto the wrong target out the other side. They would re-acquire the same target.
