Long story short:

My dad spent $1300 for two rebuilt ford 8" center sections and the seller has yet to deliver after a written time frame of 2-3wks 3 months ago.....

Ugh.

Have you consulted the 'Roadside Assistance' thread? Perhaps that could be an unspoken network of shaking internet scammers trees.

If you have to use a professional "collector" it'll run 40% of the amount collected.

I've knocked on a door for a forum member before. Dude got his parts ASAP after that. If it is near Atlanta maybe me and DILYSI Dave can pay them a visit.

Datsun1500 wrote: It is amazing how quickly things get resolved when someone knocks on the door, out of the blue, and asks "what's up?" I did that with classic mini parts. A guy in the UK kept saying he was shipping tomorrow. My Uncle lived about 20 minutes away, one day he knocked on the door and asked for my parts, said the guy almost E36 M3 himself.

When I used to do high dollar pawn we had "Jamarcus" to go collect for us. Nothing like a in person to get people to pay up what they owe.

There's a guy on a Harley forum in another country, far, far away. He bought some Harley parts on ebay from a seller in Van Nuys, I think. San Fernando Valley, CA anyway. The seller screwed him over and basically said "You're far, far away, what you gonna do about it? Berkeley off." Well, the guy apparently had some "friends" in a certain "club" in that far, far away land that happened to have a chapter in SoCal, or be primarily based in SoCal. Some of "the guys" from this "club" went round to see the seller and he suddenly had no problem making good on the sale.

A guy named Chris Zwemke who went by the name RAWPOWER on Probetalk.com and MX6.com ripped off tons of guys for at least $20k total (my tally from when I ran the "people who were ripped off by Chris Zwemke" yahoo club). Besides being forced to "go dark" on the 'net, I don't think anything ever happened to him.

These ladies are pissed at him too:
