If you zoom in on the center cap of the wheel it says "We produced with spartan air".
Is that some funny Japenglish or am I the funny one for not comprehending it as it's written?
Japengrish, I have a set that says "On wings like eagles mountains rise again". Wut...
What a POS. Nice 10 year old tires and all of the paint damage. His price is only about 20k too high. Isn't the skyline hoopla pretty much over anyways? There are so many better cars than that for 30K
I don't understand the appeal of these cars. And I'm pretty sure that I've seen that car with my own eyes a couple of times.
Cool car, but I think they have all the factors for steep and rapid depreciation.
Only reason. They are so high now is because they are a novelty and newly availible.
In 5 years the skyline fan boys will have moved on to the more recent models and the other car enthusiasts will be tired/afraid of non domestically availible parts.
Imho, sub $10k car waiting to happen.
I only got to witness one R32 GT-R in person and it looked like it drove like poo. Either big understeer or big oversteer. The ATTESA must have had crude tuning.
If I wanted a big sub 300hp AWD car, to be honest, I'd be looking at a Mazdaspeed6. Or an Evo IX or STI. It's not like you're going to easily find performance parts for a 25 year old Japanese-only car anymore. (Let me tell ya about the time I was looking for Evo III halfcuts. HAHAHAHA NOPE. And any performance parts you can find are knockoffs out of China or Malaysia)
If ya just had to have the howl of a twin turbo inline six, well, you can get a 135is for $20-25k. As a bonus, it's not a Nissan.
If you really wanted to bring something over from Japan, why not go totally berkeleying nuts and REALLY be different?
In reply to pointofdeparture:
Why not a Toyota Sera? At least the thing is mechanically a Tercel, so you could theoretically find parts in the US without difficulty.
Personally, I'd want a Subaru Rex. Because I am 50% shiny happy person by weight, and I'd want to show up the people who call their WRXs "Rex"s. Or their RX-7s "Rex"s. Or their CRXs "REX"s. No, berkmeister, THIS is a Rex. 660cc of turbo AWD sillyness.

Yes, please! Though i should probably wait until i can confirm I fit... I'm too tall for a sunroof model FC while wearing a helmet...
I still want a GT-R...just not that one.
I use Gran Turismo to scratch my skyline itch, there's plenty to choose from.

While a skyline is interesting, I would really want a Cosmo.

Drive one. I've owned an R32 Skyline (GTS-T, though) and driven an R32 GT-R. I certainly wouldn't mind an R32 GT-R that's well set up, they might be a bit on the chubby side but they do have the moves.
The problem is - as usual - getting a good one. They're collectible in Japan as well, so the ones they sell to the Gaijin at the cheaper end often aren't in that good a shape. The nice ones - especially when worked over by a reputable tuner - are still expensive and are often mapped for the 100 octane juice they get over there (which I think translates to about 95-96 octane over here, not something your local ARCO stocks).
Edit: The one in the ad has a curious combination of interesting parts on it and stuff that you may want to change out. The ARC induction box is pretty rare and high quality and the NISMO speedo not something that you find at every street corner either (plus, it removes the speed limiter IIRC).

Or any of the really cool turbo rwd/awd cars we never received.

Agreed. This thing just sold, but I was drooling over it for a while. That site turns up some interesting imports.
