Why are you shoveling free insulation off of the roof?
This, unless you live in a shack built by drunks in the depression, I don't see how this is necessary. Actually I did grow up in a house built by drunk rednecks, part of it during the depression, and we never removed snow from the roof.
Ice dam. I was up on my roof shoveling for the first time in over a decade last week after water started leaking out of the walls. If you get the right conditions, it can happen.
I grew up in a city with 7' of average snowfall, a driveway that went between two houses so you had to move all the snow out of the driveway, and no snowblower. We had a tiny lawn. I'd still rather shovel snow than mow the freakin' grass.
Mow or snow makes no difference to me. That why I have a 14yo. About the time he's moving out, his younger brother will take over. I'm good for another 10 years
That said, if the snow isn't gone by 2, it's time to move further south.

Do you ever have second thoughts about moving to Ohio?
Probably, he is so close to Indiana already......we have the same amount of snow, just less Ohio ans.....
I'll snap some pictures tomorrow.....As they claim it'll be above freezing, I'm going to steal dad's new Massey and try to clean my driveway down to gravel for the first time in 2mo.....I'm tired of my fukus getting nearly stuck....lol
We had the tractors out clearing out what my snowblower couldn't get. Took an hour when it would have taken all day with my 26" snowblower. I'd rather mow, my drink doesn't freeze.
